Default Best Oil for New Suzuki Cultus

    Hi Every one,
I have just bought a new Suzuki Cultus 2006 (1000 cc Carborated Engine). It has done 3,500 Kms yet and I have to go for an Oil change. I just cant decide which Oil will be best for my car ?
I have the following Oils under consideration:

Zic XQ (5W 40) (Fully Synthetic)
    Zic A (5W 40) (Semi Synthetic)
    Castrol GTX Magnetic (10W 40)
    Caltex Havoline Formula (25W 50)
Shell Helix Plus (10W 40) (Semi Synthetic)

Please let me know ehich Oil is best and how much milage should these oils give with normal drive within the city ?

The owner's manual of Zultus recommends (10W 40) or (25W 50) oils. Would it be harmful if I use an Oil with specifications lower than (10W 40) e.g. (5W 40) ???

Since all the Synthetic Oils usually have lower viscosity Index. And is it safe to use Synthetic Oils in these old technology Engines?

Please comment only if you are an expert, since I seek for an expert's advice.

    Thanks
    Adeel Ali

    Caltex Havoline Formula (25W 50)

oil change interval..hmm..a debatable topic, anyhow replace it after 3000km with new filter.

btw, search old forums, u'd get lots of info regarding such issues.

    Suzuki recommends ZIC.
I have also used ZIC A+ for my alto and liana. Oil change after 5k. No problem at all. Nice oil indeed.

    Hi Guys,
Thanks for your comments. But no one yet has told me that will it be harmfull if I use a better Synthetic Oil like Zic XQ or Zic A in my Cultus ? The inly Concern I have is that their viscosity Index is slightly lower than the one recommended in its Manual.
Please let me know if Synthetic Oils ae good to use in such engines or not ?
    Thanks

    Havoline or Castrol.

I use castrol for all my cars, excellent oil, made my baleno last 130k with a sound engine.
    I change every 3000km.
Change oil and air filters too, since cng cars need air and in the dusty conditions here in PK, air filters get useless pretty soon.

as far as my knowledge is concern for new cars use Zic thats what suzuki company recommend and many people use it for new cars and your car is fairly new so my rcommendation is go for zic and for old cars specially suzuki i recommend caltex or total please do not use shell as some people had bad experience with shell as far as your question about less viscosity than 10 what i read here in pakwheel people recommend 20w 50 in summer and 10w 40 in winter .

For new car 5W-40 is not a problem, for old 10W-40 is good. But for extreme summer in Pakistan, use 10W-50 or 20W-50. 10W-50 should be costly. there is also 15W-50 but in Pakistan ??? Caltex is not making other than 10W30 (Formula) an 20W50 (Hav. DS) as I contacted one person, in Asia they have 5 types but not in Pakistan.. In LHR they scarcly produce 5W30 (Energy), No Semi-Synth. 10W-40 or Synthetic 5W/10W-50.
