    Default Cultus km per liter

I think my car is not giving proper km per liter. Most probably it could be upto 11 km/ltr but I feel mine is around 9 km/ltr max.
    What could an issue?
    Expert opinions are welcome.

I have no idea what is the distance between pindi to peshawar. I was talking about notice kmpl in the city where bumper to bumper is routine.

There could be many reasons for bad fuel average..

    Timing is set incorrect..
Resistance values of ignition coil and plug wires out of spec's..
Wrong spark plugs and their gap..
Ignition coil not getting required voltage..
Carbeurator needs float adjustment and its inner mechanisms also wear with time and use so maybe the jets need to be changed..
    Air fuel mixture set wrong..
    Clogged Air filter..
    ETC.......

cultus had good economy but recently lot of economy related threads are arose for carby cultus'es. Leading to fact they are finally ruined by the hands of Mechanic. 3s centers are here which fix the car according to schematic/service manual and replace parts.
mechanics on the hands will take out the parts instead of fixing/replacing. or replace with non oem/wrong specs parts.
Their purpose is to get the car running and filling their pockets.
they believe on juggarr and their favorite oil 20w50. they will grease the timing and other belts instead of replacing/adjusting just to eliminate the "Sssshhhhhh" sound.
and coming to torquing nuts. jab tak "tuk" na ho ghomatee jaye.
they mess with vacuum and the wirings
I would advise you go to some sensible person or 3s and ask them to get it back to factory specs. fix all the jugar to factory specs
    you will feel economy improvement
and pour 10w40 api sg to sj. not higher.
It doesn't matter baby we can take it real slow

faheemakbar has a valid point.. I remember in a thread you said that you are using some 20w50 oil. I assume that thermostat valve would also be missing in your car's cooling system...

Do change the oil to 10w40 API SG, SJ. Also get the t.valve if not present these steps will remarkably improve the fuel economy.

I agree with you but my car is 2005/6 that's why I used little thicker oil because 8 to 10 years old car needs thicker oil. Frankly no body forced me my mechanic just suggested me to use. Final decision was mine. I changed it in end March.

Yes I used 20w50 but I will change it to 10w40 but all are suggesting to use thicker one. Anyhow I will do it. What about t. Valve? What is the actual use of that meter?

no one in his right mind would suggest 20w50 considering the hydraulic lifters of cultus.
old car is lame excuse people give
if seals are bad you better replace them than pouring thicker oil.

tvalve serves a blocker. when engine is cool (below optimal level) tvalve block the coolant from entering engine (water body) thus engine warms up fast to optimal temperature and as soon as it exceed that level, tvalve open the path for coolant.
early the engine warm up, the better. engine life decreases if tvalve is not present as it remain cool for longer period of time

Cultus can even work really good with 5w30 oil's just because it has hydraulic lifters... But you better use 10w40.
And for the oil change i would suggest that change that a little bit early..

And rest faheemakbar has explained all your queries...
