    Default Santro vs Cultus

I am planning to buy one soon. I am pretty much narrowed down on Santro's Exec. Gv .

I was looking for power steering as the basic factor.

    Any suggestions?

    Many thanks

    Santro exec gv
    Price tag: 689000
Registration @ 1% value plus tax: around 8-9 thousand
Insurance: 25000 (4-5% of original value)
    Power steering: good
    Size: comparatively small
Advantage: trunk space available after cng installation
Disadvantage: delivery d b delayed by up to 2 months (depending on the color)

    Cultus vxli
    Price tag: around 699000 (approx.)
    Reg and insurance same
    Power steering: ok
    Size: larger (especially for back)
Advantage: larger size, resale much much quicker and better, better dealership
Disadvantage: old design, no back space after cng

id urge u to consider chevy joy bcoz its very cheap and comes with all the stuff present in santroexec gv and cultus vxli

if u can just push ur budget may be geely d b a better choice.....

go to the geely dealership in lahore and discuss ur questions. i succumbed to family pressure and bought santro execgv. Although its an excellent car, but the fact remains that both exec gv and vxli r WAY OVERPRICED.

GEELY cng version is around 1300 cc at 729000.
3-4 yr old honda d *** in at around 6-7 lacs.

What about a 2001 or so spectra. Would it be fine too?

i am a student and looking for something pleasant to drive and most of all reliable. I don't want to end up in workshops every now and then.

If you dont wana go for 'workshop trips' then stop thinking to buy old cars which are more than 3 years old...
I've got a heart full of pain, head full of stress, hand full of anger held in my chest... up hill struggle, blood, sweat 'n' tears... but no body's listning!

dont go for spectra bcoz it drinks up fuel very heavily.

u can also opt for vitz as it is a very good import too.

if u r a student and want to keep car for ur daily use then geely, spectra and honda wont b suitable.

dont get distracted by a single thread as it isnt concerned about exec gv.

santro, joy, cultus or vitz: the choice is urs to make.

    AOA MESMERIZER!

TRUELY CULTUS IS A TOTAL RIP OFF AT A 700K PRICE TAG. PLUS WE ALL ARE WELL AWARE OF THE QUALITY STANDARDS OF PAK SUZUKI.. (IS0...W..T..F).

THE BEST CHOICE IF U WANNA GO FOR A SUZUKI RATHER GO FOR A BALENO.

AS FAR AS BRAND NEW. SANTRO IS BETTER THAN CULT.

GEELY IS UNDOUBTEDLY A GOOD CHOICE BUT ITS ONLY THE RESALE THAT MAY REFRAIN YOU FROM BUYING IT.

A CIVIC 96- 99 CAN BE A GOOD OPTION TOO

WELL THATS SOME SUGGESTIONS FROM ME

    WISH YOU BEST OF LUCK

Thanks for the replies. Really appreciate it.

My consideration would be a fairly decent value for money (We cant expect a lot in Pakistan) and reliability.

That i dont want to end up in workshops everynow and then. And it should be reliable for any out station visits.

Santro Exec and Cultus's fully loaded version are almost equally priced.

What about future speculations, any new models coming in which might be taken into account too?

    What else should i consider?

    Many thanks

Would an investment of around 7 lacs be ok for a small car?
In terms of future long term, resale etc?

Please guide me on this aspect.

    Many thanks.

No but i am looking for a small car for my personal use as im a student and thus getting a bigger car would be a security plus maintainance issue.

Is it true that Santro Prime Gv has serious mechanical and technical issues?
and is somewhat of a substandard quality?
