Default Tuning period of new Cultus Vxri EFI CNG

    Dear All!
I have cultus vxri cng 2007 model, about 16,000 km driven. now a days, i m facing strange sound problem from the engin like ghrrrrrrhhhhh.... when i apply accelerator. I am hearing extra ordinary noice from the engin now.
I've sent it to suzuki, they said u did'nt get it tuned that's why this type of sound appears and they recommend it to get it tuned after every 5,000 km.
I want to ask, should i really got to tuned my car after this interval.
I will get the car back in evening and update all of you whether the problem solved or not after tuning or plug change whatever they do with it.

Kindly seriously reply to my thread.

Yes brother on average of 5000 Kms every car needs tuning up especially in environment conditions like ours (Engine Oil change, Gear Oil change, Oil Filters, Air Filters) the mileage can be extended under some circumstances like if you use a very good engine oil like Mobil 1 or Zic XQ but that also not to 16,000 Kms like in your case it was even beyond the limits of a good engine oil. For better performance and longer engine life I recommend tuning up your car after 3000-4000 Kms (some people may not agree but that's what I do) and using higher quality oils and filters. It is quite possible that you hear different types of noises because you didn't get your car tuned after the required time period. However I hope your car is back to normal condition soon (INSHALLAH).

    @fahmed
    thanx for your quick reply.
As i understand, u called oil+filters change is tuning.

but bro, i change all this stuff after every 3000km on regular basis,
but tuning is some other thing is i know so for.
may be tuning include, tappet adjustment, kit cleaning, pipes cleaning etc,
if its true, should i got this done after every 5000 km?

Well I am quite surprised if still they (Suzuki people) told you to tune-up after 5000 Kms although you are doing that on 3000 Kms (which is very healthy for your car). As far as I know and also a general idea about tuning is to get your oils and filters changed after 5000 Kms. Even when I go to change mine all they do is put in some new oil and change the old filters with the new ones. When I bought my car new (Suzuki Alto VXR) first time when I went for an oil change they said that when you do 10,000 Kms on it we will do your brakes adjustment that's all they told me and nothing else need to be adjusted in a new car. If tuning is what your are saying then to be honest I haven't done that yet on my car. I would recommend that you check with your workshop what exactly are they doing with your car.

    FYI all
I got the car back after tuning, and believe me, vehicle's performance is awsome now as compared to when it was given to suzuki people. they adjusted the tappets and clean the kit and other stuff, now its pick is good and noiseless engin sound. i am satisfied after getting it tuned.
Inshalla, i will get it tuned after 10,000 km in routine.
and would recommend to all others too.

    Kaisar,

Yes this is right EFI engine requires more care than that of the normal one, that's why they suggested to have your car tuned every 5,000Km. But I've asked similar thing to other mechanics as well, and they all suggested to tune up your car after 20-25K KMs. So don't worry about tuning that much, but keep changing your oil regularly after 3 to 3.5K depending on the type of rush you drive and quality of your engine oil.

Again, tuning time varies on the kind of area/environment you drive, if you face RPM fluctuation before 20K, then get it tuned immediately. I have a 2007 model VXRi cultus as well, and I do the same practice. My car is driven 50K uptill now and not facing any extra sound from engine.

    Thanks

i own 2007 VXLi...and i tune that car after every 5000 kms but tuning dznt mean changing oil filter or mobil oil or air filter cleaning....and its now 60k kms...but still silent and like new...
tuning for cultus means tappet adjustment...and CNG adjustments thru computerized tuning.....and cultus 5000 kms sei zyada nahin nikaltei tuning kei saath so get the car tuned after every 5000 kms.......and tappet needs adjustments cuz they get tighten and then u face problems but this is for CNG...on petrol tuning can last till 10000kms
