Default Daihatsu Mira 2007 fuel consumption

    Hello,

I have recently purchased Daihatsu Mira 2007 automatic. Its a marvelous and fun car to drive. But I am getting 11.5 to 11.75 Km/litre in Islamabad with air conditioner switched on most of the time. I have seen 18 to 27 km/litre reported on the internet, and also that this is car has the most efficient engine in the world. I just wanted to check if other people are getting a similar fuel consumption from this car. Furthermore, today Toyota I9 refused to provide service (tuning) for the car saying they are not 'equipped' to support imported cars (including Corolla Axiom). This is just crap and nothing mite than strong arm tactics to discourage sale of imported cars. The question I have is whether anyone knows a good garage/service shop of routine service of Mira and Axio in Islamabad. Thanks.

I owned 65k km (not reversed meter) 2006 Mitsubishi EK with manual transmission. I drove it between isb and rwp and it gave me always above 18 km per litre and on two tanks fulls it gave me 24.5 and 25.2 km per litre.

those who have bad mileage have maybe meter reversed. Cat convertors chocked. bad fuel injectors. spark plugs or engines at the end of their life.

^but then on the same route i have obtained the following fuel stats with the following two cars:
    1. Toyota platz, manual transmission (136k km driven and CNG installed) = 18.5 km per litre
and with 55 kg CNG cylinder = 250 km per cylinder.
    2. Suzuki Swift 1.3 = many times over 16.5 and on the average 16.06 km per litre

    Default need a little help

i own a mira 2007 automatic and it has been consistently giving me around 14km/l. Although not bad, i bought it with the idea of getting around 20km/l. Now i ve noticed that the initial acceleration once i put the car into the drive gear is high. On a straight road it reaches to almost 30km/hr without any acceleration? What i wanted to know was how to reduce this initial acceleration?

guys what is this all about? my mom wants to get a car which is fuel efficient and would mostly be driven in isb/rwp highway or main roads. some owners claiming 20kmp/l and some saying hardly 12kmp/l? anyone with genuine consumption plz tell me, the budget would be 8 lakhs.

Yaar i have owned a mira 2007 4 door for almost a month now and so far in 2 refills its has given me 10-12 kmpl , 10 kmpl on a new car driving experience with pushing the car at times and ac on all the time and the 12 with a light foot and oil change, air/oil filter changed with ac on 70% of time. Now i am going to get its plugs changed and get it serviced and hope it will at least reach 15 kmpl

i had a 2 door mira with 3 speed auto. It used to give me 15~16~17 km/l in pindi/islamabad with or without AC.

4 speed auto should be even better. U should check the oils, filters and plugs.

I just got a Mira 2008 Automatic. I have driven it for almost 15 days now and on full tank it's giving me 17-18 km/liter. A/C is mostly switched off but on when driving with family. Without A/C my guess is it will give 18-19 km/liter. My drive is mostly in heavy traffic, going to office from Rwp to Isl daily and coming back in rush hours, and going to sadar etc on weekends with family. On long I'm sure it will easily give around 20 km/liter.

I changed oil, oil filter, air filter and plugs immediately after buying. I didn't get the catalytic converter removed. After 2 weeks I also had to change the battery. I guess the trick is to drive on light foot, and keep the maximum speed up to 80 km/hr. My speed is mostly between 50-60 km/hr due to heavy traffic. I am using Caltex Premium Petrol from F-6 Islamabad. Also tried Total and Shell, but I think Caltex is somewhat better.

I second you! I have Daihatsu Move CVT auto, I keep it tunned with OBD II scanner , Still i got 12.5 with a/c and 14 w/o A/c then one of the pakwheels fellow member recommand the high 10 to 15% ratio of high octane to normal petrol! then i start getting 14.5 with a/c but it starts increases cost! here petrol is 92 in Japan its 98! so its make difference in average!

    IMPORTANT NOTE
    FOR ALL MIRA OWNERS:

Mira manual trans or Mira auto but CVT gives excellent milage! Non cvt gives bad milage (floor gear).
