    Default Recommendation of Mobil 1 5w50 / 0W40 for Cuore ?

Few days before i went for oil change of my car (its Cuore), i was aimed for Total Synthetic 5W30. i saw Mobil 1 5w50 & 0W40. when i queried to use Mobil 1 5w50 for my Cuore, then person there said properties of Mobil 1 5w50 will not suitable for my car. then i chosen Total 5W30.
i would like to ask you guys if some one of Cuore owner having experience of Mobil 1 5w50 or Mobil 1 0w40 ? is it really suitable for Cuore?

    have a nice day

Sir I think you can use any type of oil but lets wait for experts. I myself have switched many oils but I have a fuel injected car. I guess the salesman was not properly trained. And If I had a coure I would have choosen viscous oil due to engine sound.

First of all..CHeck out our engine oil cap and see what is the recommended viscosity(or check out your owners manual)..As fas as my knowledge is concerned 10w50/15w50 is a thicker oil and is normally suited for old engines which have clocked more than 100k/120K++ kms..It all depends on the manufacturer recommendations as the have tested various oil grades and recommended the most suitable one..

So first of all first check out what is the Recommended viscosity by Diahatsu for your model.

The you can go out for any brand..Mobil1,Liqui-Moly are good and reliable brands..If money aint an issue go for fully synthetic>Semi-Synthetic>Mineral Oil.
The one thing that unites all human beings, regardless of age, gender, religion, economic status, is that, deep down inside, we all believe that we are above-average drivers.

Mostly people are using Havoline 5w40 fully synthetic in cuore too, even grading of cuore is 5w30.
i will search if Mobil1 is available in 5w30.

Your engine uses flat tappets - you need an oil with lots of ZDDP in it, the current oil rating lacks it. In simple terms, you need an oldschool oil.

I also need that info cuz right now i,m using 5W50 due to leakage of few drops after few KM leakage is almost negligible but just to reduce leakage mechanic suggested 2 use thick oil and i think that it is increasing fuel consumption a lil bit so next time 40
Can,t think of a better signature

well there are two things a 5w40 oil will provide better engine protection at the expense of a nominal difference in economy..5w30 std is a thin oil and thus the oil flows fast but is less viscous(thick) thus its lubrication properties at not on par with the w40 oils..Thats what sports bikes mcyclists do for a little more torque they use 5w20 oil..If the oil feels heavy dont worry the feeling will become less observable with time..I would recommend a thicker oil if your car has clocked over 120k Kms as it adds more protection..There wont be a great difference in pick up that i can assure you.
GO for a genuine 5w40//10w40 oil eyes closed

    thanks devilskreed,
the my Cuore has clocked near 5500km just, u can say its new, i felt 15W40 a very heavy oil for it, as i read on different forums, Havoline is looking best choice in 5W40, will see this in summers (next change), in pakistan Mobil1 is not offering 5W40 but 0W40 & 5W50
due some posts on PW (rated Mobil1 is best of alll), i thought to put 0W40 / 5W50 in my new cuore, so that's why i want some suggestions will these ratings (0W40 or 5W50) will feasible for cuore or not.

FOr pakistani conditions 0w oil is of no use unless the engine in turbocharged..Total quartz 9000 5w40 is a fully synthetic oil..ALso in summers a 5w40 oil would perform better and provide better protection than a thinner oil..where temperatures exceed 45 C..

Go for manual recommendations for the temperature range mentioned in the manual..ALso the op Temperature lies anywhere b/w 100-200 C
