I was reading on ZDDP (zinc and phosphorous) and found it was introduced by Castrol. ZDDP usage was lowered after 80s as it caused to kill the catalytic converter sooner. On the other hand, modern oils do have other additives to reduce the wear on flat-tappet camshafts such as ester, molybdenum and boron as generic additives and designer additives which are respective to their innovators such as Magnatec or Tehcron etc.etc. using marketing terms on souped up chemical derivatives of these generic additives.

Also it seems ZDDP becomes more important on flat-tappet cam engines when they are in break-in period or newly over-hauled. there is a lot of discussion over the internet on it.

Boron, ester & molybdenum are friction reduction additive they aren't as effective as zddp that the reason zddp is still present in oil as anti wear agent

Your cars engine is of very old design and face more wear and tear you need engine oil with more anti wear anything that says api sm/an is not recommended for your engine and anything that says api SG/sf/sh is good for your car

ZDDP is also cheaper than the modern additives therefore they are present in old school oils. Such as SG rated old spec oils. It is also present in SM/SN but the quantity is lower to make it meet the green specs. Usage of older oils in older engines help to save cost but I doubt it is hazardous as if it was there would be many rocker arm engines with grinded cams as a result.
Check the response of Castrol on the subject. http://www.ahcso.com/pdf/response_to...om_castrol.pdf

I think CL variant was originally without AC and having black bumpers (im not sure).
CX will be a petrol and AC with matching bumpers.
ECO means u can say CNG.

You didnt mention manufacturing year for mehran.. but if that 2003-4 coure is a clean one, then its much better than mehran.

i has this problem in my cuore twice. once it was solved by changing air filter and once after tuning and oil and filters change. I had this mainly on CNG and i believe it happens when car needs tappet setting.

Guys, I want to change engine oil in my cuore on my own for the first time.
Can anyone help me with the pictures of the whole process with the draining out procedure as well. And which oil shall I use?

    Thanks in advance!

ok, first of all get total/shell/caltex 20w-50 oil. after a trip when engine is hot, remove oil drain plug and drain. remove old filter, remove cap from new pack of oil. fill cap with oil. from cap apply oil to filter's rubber seal and pour rest inside new filter. clean filter's place with cloth.(mechanics dont do it) place filter and tighten with hand. pour new oil inside and its done.(pour only 2.25 and check level and make it till F mark) mechanics pour 2.8 which is too much)
take lot of care when draining. i got it spilled on floor twice and it was a pain to clean.
i dont have photos for now but if anything is not clear i will make it clear with photo.

Sir, Its so nice of you to explain in detail. But as I told you I am doing it for the first time If I can get the pictures of the oil filter and place of drain plug. I would be really grateful.

And one more query, actually I have auto cuore, I usually drive it alone. But when sometimes my family or friends came along and If the car has 4 people, Its soo heavy to drive. Its on CNG.
What could be the reason and how can it be resolved?
