    Default Mira ES Fan Club

Hello and welcome guys to the official Mira Es Fan page.
So decided to make this page as i couldn't find another.
So , most of people in Pakistan are tired of high fuel prices and to overcome this issue , people leaned towards 660cc cars but they were shocked at their low average figures and people developed a bad image about their economy in their mind but now Daihatsu has launched a truly fuel saving "Eco" car named mira es with its new technology called "Eco-Idle".
    So,whats basically eco idle ?
Its a fuel saving technology introduced by Daihatsu in which the car switches of when at stop or lower than 11 km/h.
It also has extra storage batteries for to store electric from regenerative braking.
So whats the difference between Mira eS and other cars?
Mira eS is the most fuel efficient car around the globe which offers the best milage of 30-33.6Km according to Japanese tests.
    This car has Regenerative braking.
Eco idol or start stop system.
Extra Batteries for storage of Regenerative Braking.
All of cars electronics runs on its extra
    .
Different variants of this car are introduced including
X Memorial Edition (It includes alloys and rear seat headrests extra than X and chrome handles too )
G package (Top of the line , It has VSC,TRC and climate control A/C and also Push start which is optional and chrome handles and it also features 4 Airbags)
L package (Basic , without keyless entry , Retractable mirror , just beige interior)
    D package (Most Basic)
    And some other packages.
    Excellent suspension and superb Drive.
It also has a CVT transmission and Digital Meter
    Dashboard gears and much more.
This car may not be the best in 660cc range but surely is the most fuel efficient car!
This car was launched in 2011 and also know as
    Toyota Pixis Epoch
    Subaru Pleo +

friends i am deeply confused over the choice of car...would like you to help me out.

First let me state my requirements

    1. I want it to be spacious enough for my family 5 elders + 1 toddler plus a little luggage space as i live on Highway (near/adjacent to Karachi) -- 70% drive is alone -- 30% drive is with family -- 70 KMs of drive daily on average.
    2. I want the fuel consumption to "at least" be around 13-15 KM/L which can be affordable for me (with AC)
    3. Ideally I want an automatic transmission because I want it to be driven by some ladies in my family too
    4. I want a car which "should not bug me even after 4-5 years" if driven carefully....(already am a victim of Suzuki Mehran 2 years > Margalla 5 years > then Cultus 1 year and so on....with a visit to mechanic every two weeks on an average for last 6-7 years...so I want a peace of mind big time....otherwise i am going to literally be a "gullu butt" to my new car ....
    5. The investment I am willing to make has a wide range based on different parameters i.e. 8 lac to 15 lac....(on lease)

Now, I have been considering many options since last 5-6 months of analysis (paralysis)...let me share those with the headline problems i found while doing the analysis with each of these....

    a. New WagonR -- Initially I was shaky about this but now have read enough good reviews for this...the only problem is its shape and manual transmission
    b. Swift DLX (manual) -- but only issue i found was it to be a little expensive being a non-sedan and its non-impressive feul consumption i.e. 10-12KM/L
    c. Swift DLX (Auto) -- insanely expensive option ..only 1 lac below than City or Corolla XLI
    d. City I-Vtec (Manual) -- the only problem is that it is not auto ....plus i can't give it to any novice lady drivers....
    e. City I-Vtec (Auto) -- very expensive...going out of my budget.....and having a bad fuel economy

    Now the JDMs....
a common issue with most JDMs: I dont trust these to give me a smooth sail for 4-5 years....as i have heard from multiple people that they start to create problems after 2 years...and then your life is a mess mostly....you cant fix all issues...cant sell for good money etc.

    a. Diahatsu Esse -- very small car...with very less features as compared to other JDMs
    b. Diahatsu Mira -- again a very small car....i am not sure it is suitable for my family size or not....and it has cross 10 lac benchmark....looks like a expensive option...yet being a small car...
    c. Toyota Passo -- looks good but has become damn expensive i.e. around 12Lac for a good car....for a one with auction grading above 4.0...

The closest matches to my requirements have been City (Manual) ...wagonR.....and Mira ES or Non ES....but of course i am confused guys!! need help from you all...

If you stretch your budget just a little you can find a good Honda Airwave. It's an estate car.
    -Amazing drive.
    -Good average (to your requirements).
    -Automatic
-Being an estate it's very spacious.
-Parts are easily available since it's based 90% on '06 Honda City.
    -Above all, it's a Honda!

Easily the best car I've owned!
Check out the Honda Airwave fan club for more info!

First of all, with your requirements, I would suggest you to stay away from JDMs. Go for a used swift auto (2012-13).

So i Filled my Cars Tank with about Rs1000 high octane and rest normal petrol, It was filled around Rs4500.Now it has traveled around 77kms and the fuel bar is still full Mash Allah .In These 77kms the AC was on at full all the time, and the car kept standing started with A.C on for approx half an hour, Tyres are inflated to 32 and CVT oil needs to be topped up. Uptill now the mileage has been impressive and its very fun to drive this dinky. Hopefully it will give around 500kms+ in one tank In Sha Allah

At the end i hope it'll tell you exact figures , I also had the same problem with my mira es .... But the one which i got for my sir shows the exact fuel consumption from day one , he drives on highway for 32 kms a day and 10-15 in city so avg is always above 22km/l

Treat others the way you want to be treated
The day i bought my car it showed 7 km/l, the next day i got the air filter replaced, got tyres inflated to 32 and topped up the fuel, the average started increasing and went to 14-15 but then it came back the same day to 8 and never got above but the fuel meter is showing a different story, so now im not trusting the avg meter and im gonna test it manually

Now it's about 2+ months I started driving my Mira 2006 Model and Manual. Initially was way disappointed due to its unexpectedly low mileage of 11 km/l, as fuel economy was the main attraction for buying a 660 cc. Tuning of car didn't do any good. Later, however, I realized if I re-fill from a good reputed pump and preferably keeping same brand (Shell in my case)... mileage increased up to ~ 14 (50% time AC+shitty traffic of Karachi).

I believe the idea of Mileage is a complicated given its dependence on many factors - road roughness, traffic, fuel quality, heavy rims and tyres, driving habits (like driving at unsuitable gear or rapid race in automatic) - in general any thing that requires engine to exert more. Hence, the average will vary. I have heard that the claim of mileage made by a company is always based on ideal conditions performed in a lab. It, therefore, obviously can't replicate conditions in practice of any country in general and Pakistan in particular- I'm sure Diahatsu people can't even imagine how things are in Karachi.

Nevertheless, coming back to my Manual Mira 2006 model, I'm quite satisfied as I don't see a better option in Pakistan for the price I gave (~ 7 lac). For local manufacturers I could get new Mehran, Coure & Cultus. But Mira proved better for its impressive pick-up, AC performance, spaciousness etc. Currently, it's giving 13-15 km/L.

So, as a beginner my suggestion on mileage is: Don't be too quick to reach a conclusion based on initial observations. Keep noticing things and while making a comparison do take into account aforementioned conditions.
