Dear Experts!!!!
I've seen your projects and feel that you're the perfect guys to guide me through this decision.
We have a battered 1973 Nissan Cherry (sample pics below). Now this car is pretty ugly, it always was, and it never was and prolly never will be anything precious. But the thing is that it was our first car, and we all went to school and learned driving on this car, saw good and bad times - you get what I mean right? So its kinda pretty dear to us.
What I want is to restore it. But having no such experience under my belt, I don't even know where to start. I'd really appreciate if you could answer a couple of basic queries of mine -
1- Is restoring a full time job? I mean I work from 9-6, can I still manage?
2- Is there a phenomenon like I leave the car at denter's place, he does all the denting job, then I take it to the mechanic who fixes the engine and then to the painter who paints it? Or these things aren't that simple?
3- How hard would it be to find the spare parts of this car? I mean I know it wasn't sold much in Pakistan, can I still get all the spare parts from Bilal Ganj?
4- The cost - a rough idea about how much it may cost me?
Here're the pics.
