I recently had the opportunity to drive of the iconic cars of the eighties, the famous Delorean DMC-12:
(A total of 9,000 cars were made, and only 6,500 are estimated to still exist worldwide.)

The 2.8 liter V-6 engine made only 130 bhp when it was saddled with US emission controls. This engine has been modified to electronic fuel injection, a custom tuned ECU and fully polished and ported heads, producing about 230 bhp:
