Rotary News brings us advanced warning that a Japanese magazine has 'scooped' the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show plans of Mazda. First off, Mazda will bring the final concept of their flow series, following the Nagare, Ryuga, Senku, and Hakaze concepts.
But the bigger news is that Mazda will be showcasing a new coupe concept! And it doesn't end there, the new Coupe Concept will be featuring a larger rotary engine, for the first time since 1974 the displacement will increase and has already been dubbed the RENESIS II.
The new Mazda Rotary Coupe, as Rotary News calls it, will be the successor of the 1991 third generation RX-7 which went out of production in 2002 and is still considered to be Mazda's greatest engineering and design achievement. This concept is said to have a very distinctive design, at first glance it appears to have most in common with the Kabura concept, and will be Mazda's ultimate Zoom-Zoom sports car. Stay tuned for our coverage of the Tokyo Motor Show.
