Patriotic plutocrats in China will soon have a domestic option to the tiresomely ubiquitous Rolls-Royce Phantom, complete with a genuine ‘flying figurine’ on the bonnet.
We can’t quite make out whether the authentically ripped-off R-R grille has been topped with a new take on Roll’s trademark Spirit of Ecstasy, or whether it’s some kind of Chinese dragon.
Hopefully we’ll get better pictures when Chinese car maker Geely proudly unveils its new 5.3m long luxury model at the Shanghai motor show in April.
For now, we can’t help liking the new model’s interior treatment, which features a unique three seat arrangement allowing the owner to repose languidly in the rear while issuing instructions to the driver and valet mounted up front.
