bro, leave advanced economies asides like US, Japan, and Germany. Even developing ones have more effective auto assembling industry such as Philippines, Uzbekistan, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and India. All these economies were behind us some decades ago...Take a look at them now. Uzbekistan had an almost non-existent automotive industry fifteen years ago and now even they have surpassed us in just fifteen years.
Just take an example of Suzuki - their worst lineup all across the world is in Pakistan even in poorer African countries and in Vietnam, Cambodia, etc.. they are selling their latest models. Only Pakistan is being provided obsolete junk. and yes another fact biggest market of Suzuki in Terms of Market share is Pakistan (I am talking about market share not sales volume)
Furthermore please do not underestimate the value of automotive safety - it is critical and life saving. Resale does not protect anyone in case of collision. There is a big reason why the whole world has implemented safety standards. Lookup NCAP and read their articles and see their videos for further clarity.
For the most part, Government is responsible for this mess, corruption and incompetence has totally played in favor of Japanese economy and against interests of Pakistan's consumers and it's economy. our country has great export potential due to skilled and cost effective workforce in the country however it is not being utilized.
