    Default FAW V2 Owner's Review

So I finally made my Father agree and bought this beauty.
Now you guys are gonna get the first owner's review I guess
I've driven it for almost 500kms now.
First talking about the drive, its beautiful and wonderful.
The acceleration is just freakin awesome.
I asked a friend who has 2013 gli to have a little race with me just to check the acceleration and I was amazed when the gli couldnt even catch up close :')
The ABS brake is quite responsive.
Although there's a little play in the paddle(if play means you have to press the paddle more).Bit the ABS WAS QUITE RESPONSIVE
    The suspension was also wonderful.
I just felt of it like my dad's corolla. So comfortable that I'm totally satisfied.
In the interior there's ample seat for a person like me (6''1' tall) on the front seats and the people on the back can also easily be entertained.
I didnt have a usb so I borrowed it from a friend for a bit
Usb played well and the two speakers did the job for me although I like high bass but they're perfect for doing the job .
The steering is very easy to handle.
The only issue I had was that it took me almost a day to get used to the opposite positions of headlights and viper knob.
The plastic of interior as some people said isn't really cheap but the color sometimes make it look so in high sunlight.
The grip of the car is amazing, just like a JDM as I'be previosuly owned a JDM.
    Why did I buy it?
I had to buy a car now and my considerations were cultus, wagon r,used vitz and passo.
It was quite difficult to make a choice.
    Pros:
The car is brand new unlike JDMs,it wont make me go to the workshop again and again, even if there's anything wrong, its the company's headache to solve the problem upto 50,000 kms.
It has dual airbags as compared to cultus and wagon r.
Power windows, power steering,ABS which are not there in cultus.
    The drive is very smooth.
It is way more powerful as it is 1300cc and I could not get any other 1300 cc new car in this range.
Cultus and wagon r didnt werwe totally waved out of my mind after V2.

    Cons:
Uptill now no resale, but I am hapy that they have set up their plant in Karachi and they say they will be starting its local production in 2015 which means they are here to stay and make a name in the market.
Spare parts although available all over Pakistan in 3S dealerships but not in open market uptill now.

I was able to convince myself that these cons are nothing infront of the pros so I finally decided to take it.I'm loving the ride untill now as its beautifull, sexy and a good performer.I'm sharing the pictures .I'll sooon be getting its body kit made aswell.
Anything else you guys wanna ask me,you can.

    Edited: 6th November 2015
Ive used my V2 for almost a year now and I'm really satisfied with it.My brother has also bought a v2 after my experience in white color.
He is also enjoying the ride.
I would recommend anyone who has a budget of 1 million to go for this car.
My brother got this Financed from JS bank.
    We're loving it

Although i really like v2 but i highly believe it will end up like Chevy small cars which arrived in paki and were sold very well. Infact they had allll the options which none of the japani children offered. Above all it was a chevy! But see its future - noone buys it for even 2 lac with full options and good condition. No spare parts readily available, mechanics are not ready to work on it, no after sales service etc...Cherry, another bigg chinese brand sold good amount of QQ in paki but it again failed miserably! Actually the response of a car is generally seen after few years of existence in market. I mean once a car is 2/3 years old in a market, the real problems come up e.g. parts availability, service level, units sold, general perception etc..fortunately or unfortunately our paki market loves japan! Even koreans failed to create an exciting impression and a perfect sedan like Kia Spectra failed miserably! So, i do not find it wise to spend a million on something which has absolutely no known future ahead and one can get a perfect used Civic, City, Corolla, Swift, Lancer, Liana in this range which are made in paki and each and every spare part etc is available even at local paan wali shops (just an example)... Again, its my own point of view and anyone can have different perception

Doesnt matter much if you talking about time. Our perceptions and buying habits are same. Maybe the mechanics are smarter now due to influx of efi cars manufactured and imported in paki but BRAND is of great importance for us paki...

None of the companies you mentioned had a 3S dealer Network or the assembly plant in Pakistan. On the other hand FAW has a reasonably big assembly plant in Karachi and a Nationwide 3S dealer Network. They have been assembling their X-PV, Carrier and Heavy Trucks since last 4 years in the same plant. It seems that they are here for a reason, especially in a Japanese dominated market.

People buy imported crap which is abused in Japan and then repaired in Pakistan with a fake grade sheet and they are OK with it. We should appreciate competition specially if someone is providing a better option than than what waas previously available in Pakistan.
Competition always improve the quality and pricing

I again say it was my own perception. But i believe Dewan had a plant here too. Ghandara assembled Nissan Sunny here. See what happened. Proton too planned to invest in a plant. What i see is that i have seen just total 3-4 V2 in a city like karachi although i have daily commute of around 40km in posh as well as older areas of karachi - whereas every 5th car or so is a cultus. So, even though cultus lacks abs, ebd, eps BUT it is ahead in almost all other departments. You buy a cultus for 1 million and you sell it for equal amount in a day whenever you plan to. Spare parts are available at each and every corner, mechanics work on it blindly, extensive 3s network etc etc etc...

I respect your opinion. Dewan and Gandhara never went down because of their prodcuts, they went down because they misused or mismanaged their Bank loans. It was not the product. As far as I know ALHAJ bulit their plant on 100% equity and no bank loans involved, so it give a better chance that they will not let their own money go down the drain, hopefully INSHA ALLAH.

Buying Cultus today and selling it in few days at the same price is not because the product is too good or has a very good demand. It is only because of 3 main reasons, continuous devaluation of Pak Rupee, No competition at all and almost 30 years with the same product.

And lastly it is not only about the resale value, it is actually about the the value for your money. Cultus is not at all worth 1.05 million car and even if it is, than you get a much better value for your money from V2. There is no comparison between the two with almost the same price tag. People don't buy cars to sell within 6 months. There are multiple reasons for buying a car and usually the keep it for at least 3-5 years, so if V2 is good enough for 3 years than it will surely have a good resale value as well.

As I said earlier, Competition only improve things overall. So let's encourage the competition. Strong competition will force Suzuki to improve their quality and specs as well.

The little niggles like wind noise, keep in mind this car cost you much less than others in this class and they too aren't perfect (For instance check my safety comparison between v2 and Swift in the following pages), are negligible when you consider the value for money that you're getting.

From my observation and personal opinion 85%+ of all v2 users are satisfied. I have had a very good experience with the i9 dealership and FAW management so far. I think aqeel.abbas bhai is in the last 5% =) I would advise anyone looking to buy to not get confused by getting too many opinions, get a feel for the car yourself, do your research and make an informed decision. Allaah ordain for us all what is best. Ameen
Great Post. Very well summed up.
