    Default Car stolen from garage

Mod Edit: Thread moved to correct section.

Yesterday morning, my cousin's almost new gli got stolen for his own garage. The garage was properly locked and the car had steering lock and tracker installed. The thieves (3 or 4 assumptions) jumped in from garage's gate. They entered the car by breaking the rear window and chopped the steering lock then the gate lock.

At 6:30 am, the tracker company called saying that ur car is crossing Sagian Pull so they have turned off the car. In shock he checked the garage for his car then called 1 5 and motorway police. After half an hour the tracker company called saying that they have stopped receiving signals from ur car.

The thing is, my cousin's mother was awake that time but she did not hear a sound. How were the thieves able to bypass the tracker? If tracker is so easily bypassed then whats the use of tracker? One thing to note that he has two more cars (alto and cultus) with alarm systems, did thieves aim for big car or car without alarm system?

This means that how much so ever you try to protect your car with tracker, steering lock, your car is not safe, even inside your own house.

The worst part was only the 50% of the car was insured that mean he would get only 8 lacs back.

I am a bit worried because i also have the new model corolla with tracker and fully insured. I would really like if someone could give me suggestion regarding his big loss, like this type of event ever happened before and was the car recovered. Please if someone can help or give information regarding this type of event please don't hesitate. Is there any chances of his car being recovered and who should he contact?

    Car description:
Corolla GLI 2010 model, Dark silver colour.

    Thanks.

The best solution, I would recommend however these are not to be so much relied upon are following :-

    1. You can unmount one of the injectors
    2. Unmount Battery terminals
    3. Fuel Pump, ECU
    4. Just for more safety chain your car to the a light pole

Because I believe Tracker companies suck bigtime...

I am not sure about shershah but Shoba and Sultan ka khu sell mostly imported second hand japanese car parts...cars that are chopped up in Japan...and they are not cheap either. I am sure the parts off stolen cars do get sold 'somewhere' but I don't think it would be quite in the open like that. I may be wrong but I think the high end garages and collision repair facilities utilize the parts off the stolen cars. Again, I don't expect ALL repair shops to be doing this but they have a lot of demand and are an ideal place to utilize the parts off stolen cars.

The stolen car parts may also end up at car manufacturing facility, they also need to increase their profits too in this competative market. It also serves for the environment as such activity is known as recycling.

possible but doubtful..the stakes are too high for them...in any case they are making a killing without resorting to these measures.

..and the right term, if what you say is true, would be cheepcycling.

one more funny solution...u can trace ur car but its a lit expensive.. buy an apple 3gs... activate iphone locator... leave the phone in the car under the seat on silent mode..when u park out side.. or in ur garrage... atleast u can find the location of ur car when ever ur phone will be in a range of mobile signals if they use jammer too...

I bet u trace ur driver that way,, but thats only because he doesnt drive with a jammer in the car,,,
with your smart **** method we will loose the car and also the mobile phone

Now coming to the anti-car theft techniques.

    Here is a fun idea

I am actually interested in this stuff for other fun purposes than car theft

idea is to get a led panel installed on ur rear screen (perfect if it's transparent), and a computer which can control the text displayed on led panel

instead of a computer you can also make a small controller with few buttons with feeded lines like "Chor ha is gari me", "Sorry, i am in hurry!"

Chor wala message by default pre-selected hona chahiye whenever you turn on your car now imagine how it will be .. haha

another idea is to do something with number plates.. e.g. a sliding led panel on number plate to display alerts/texts/ ... and few hidden buttons in your car to control it...

imagine what would happen if you successfully and perfectly accomplish something like this. i am sure police at checkposts and public will get lots of attention and they might stop the car. and chor bechara would be like ... wtf....

P.S. using this idea you can also display your cellfone number to an interested lady driving right behind your car
Your last idea about the interested lady is great, at 3:15 AM, I was just reading this post and was not willing to reply due to laziness but this idea pushed me

When I park my suzuki FX in a bizzare place, I put out the distributor cap and pluck out the rotating key (metal patri) and put it in my pocket. Specially on shara-e-faisal.

Well, When I was in Pakistan 4 months back , I was working in the field of Remote Monitoring.

Let me tell you guys one interesting fact that almost every tracking company is using the same devices ( I will refrain from mentioning the Manufacturer) .

So , every one is almost on same platform as far as technology is concerned ( Even CTRACK) ,the difference lies in the Customer Support and the Recovery Department.

Now , The AntiJammer technology which is mentioned here in some of the posts, What is does is it stops the vehicle when it senses that GSM Signal is being Jammed. But that is also not 100% sucessful and it is in early development phases ( Right Now even the circuits are hand made in Pakistan) .
    Fahad!!!!

only solution i have now is to install anesthesia spray system in car and homes ... instead of stooping the car ... knock these B***hes out by turning on the spray , same at home .... just hold your breath and trigger the spray ...

seriously im gonna make this system... wireless controls are available .. just need to modify them...

The oldest and the most effective way of keeping your car safe is that take out one of the main plug wires whcih would be connected to the coil and keep it with you,as long as theives doesn't wanna drag your car.

I think the more popular a car alarm system is more the chances of it getting broken into. Because car thieves come prepared for the most common deterrents they will encounter. What we need is more proprietary systems that throw off potential thieves, delay and confuse them. Any defense mechanism that takes them a long time to crack will put off thieves.

I have an idea for a car alarm system. It uses old school infra red tech. This is only to counter thieves who would try to steal the car from your garage.

The idea is to have a infrared transmitter in the car and another infrared receiver in the garage on the wall right in front of the car. When the alarm is activated the receiver and transmitter are in line of sight and hence the alarm does not go off. But if someone interrupts the beam (if they try to move the car) the alarm goes off. Again this is the basic idea and it can be worked on and improved to add more features.
Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
