Okay first of all i would like to say AoA, i am new to the forums but not to the website. Every now and then i do like to browse the used cars section and forums but registered today to post this.
A couple'a days ago my father (who's in the market to buy a car to replace his old car) So he had been browsing the used card section for the past few days. Yesterday me and him had to go to Islamabad for something personal. So he looked up a few cars in Isb and decided we'll chk out some of those cars while in Isb.
So from the few saved ads this was one of them.
Used Honda City 2010 for sale in Islamabad - Ad ID: 342212 | PakWheels
Notice how since yesterday she has closed the ad. I did take pictures of the ads i wanted to chk out in Isb so did have her ad's pic aswell
Take a note of the phone number.
A honda city of model 2010 and the mileage was 6K. @ the price of 1250000 A very "too good to be true" type ad. So my father calls the number while in Isb for more information about the car etc. A lady picks up the phone and says she's in Lahore for some court related matters. Her husband died and she had to get some official letter to be able to sell the car. She said the car is in brand new condition and only driven 6000 Km's. Then she went on and said she's so sad her husband died a few days ago and she has a
2 year old son. She needs to sell the car immidietely cuz in 3 days she's going to Dubai. Then she went on and told my father if he sends her 4000 rs via easy paisa or such similar facility cuz she needed this extra money to be able to get the documents required to sell the car. She said she has 25k (the max limit from the ATM machine) limit reached from her debit card and now she doesn't have any money for even fuel to get back to Islamabad. Then she went on saying the Kalma a few times that your money would be "Amanat" for me. Etc.
My father was gonna send her the money but i told him not to since this seems like a scam. The thing that gave away the scam was the too good to be true ad. She can drive from Isb to Lahore yet she doesn't know the value of an almost brand new car? Hell no. So thanks to Allah SWT we got saved from the scam.
So today i decided to investigate a little. Even tried calling her from a different phone number to confirm if she was doing this with everyone but her number was closed. I think she knows she got busted. So i searched for cars in the used cars section here again for a few more "Too good to be true" type ads and voila i found atleast 3 more of those ads with the same phone number but different names and different cities.
Used Honda City 2010 for sale in Lahore - Ad ID: 340614 | PakWheels
Used Toyota Corolla 2010 for sale in Lahore - Ad ID: 339843 | PakWheels
Used Toyota Corolla 2010 for sale in Rawalpindi - Ad ID: 348903 | PakWheels
As you can see from those ads, the number is the same but different alias is used in all of them. And all of them are too good to be true ads where she's "selling" a very low mileage driven car for atleast 2 lakh cheaper then the market. IMO that's to attract people to the ad and when they call she would try to scam them. Atleast 1 out of 10 people would sure do send the money. She speaks very convincingly and try to take advantage of people by using Kalma and her sad life as an excuse.
I was gonna post this in the PSA section but there isn't much traffic there so i decided to post here so you guys can read and be careful. If something is too good to be true , It really is!!! Just wanted to warn you guys and to be safe.
