Default A Car theft and Recovery - Corolla GLI 2012

    Salams!

A friend of mine hooked me up from the street few days back and wanted me to go along with him to his place, even if just for 10 minutes. Since I was busy at that moment, I had to ask him about the urgency for this, but he simply told me plz come along, I know even you have had a car stolen, so this would probably help you a bit for your next car?!!! Course I followed, Lolz!

A few minutes later when we reached his venue, it appeared that he actually wanted me to check out how a bunch of suckers had tried to take away his brand new, still unregistered, only 6 hours old Corolla GLI from his porch area!

I went inside and took these snaps, thinking that they may prove helpful to those of you who feel their cars are safe inside a covered porch!

Plz check out, the incident happened here in Wah, just 6 hours after he had brought his car home from the showroom. Means, he parked the car at 9.pm, and got the guests in by 3.am in the morning! What an intelligence!!

Main Gate ( 5.5 feet tall):

A Car theft and Recovery - Corolla GLI 2012 -391693

Main Gate lock ( new lock rings welded):

A Car theft and Recovery - Corolla GLI 2012 -1026633

And broke: ( They didn't break the lock, just the rings it was locked into!

A Car theft and Recovery - Corolla GLI 2012 -391739

And next step, the Porch gate, fully covered:

A Car theft and Recovery - Corolla GLI 2012 -391740

    Point of lock, from outside:

A Car theft and Recovery - Corolla GLI 2012 -391742

    And broke again:

A Car theft and Recovery - Corolla GLI 2012 -391747

    The Jackpot:

A Car theft and Recovery - Corolla GLI 2012 -391749

    Steering console, opened up:

A Car theft and Recovery - Corolla GLI 2012 -391750

    Steering lock, Key assembly:

A Car theft and Recovery - Corolla GLI 2012 -391751

The suckers managed breaking their way in and out of the house unnoticed. They pushed the car out of the gate and tried hot-wiring it in the street some 80 feet away from the house.

This is when the "man of the match", and elderly bazurk, had woken up for his morning prayer and from a window on the 2.nd floor of the house had caught sight of some people pushing away with the silver babe! He alerted his nephews on the ground floor, who -after a couple of minutes deliberation - went out to the street and found 5 cockroaches fiddling around with the car, bonnet open. They fleed and left the car behind.

Call from tracker company was received, but only after the owners already were standing in the street. Btw, the tracking company had "observed" the car to be some 30 kms off spot! Lolz!

The worst thing about this whole incident is that the thieves arrived to the house with a new Corolla parked, only 6 hours after it reached home from the showroom!!!!

I have said it before, I wanna say it again, Corolla owners are up against a very vicious, well-connected network of car theft mafia, which is informed about the exit of vehicles right from the moment the new cars leave from the showrooms, probably with some "Indus Connection" involved.

You just can't guard your Corolla enough. Better stay away from it! (I am fighting against the virus, still)!

It requires this kind of security, 2-4-7:

A Car theft and Recovery - Corolla GLI 2012 -391762

My car toyota corolla (ST-91) black 2.0D 2010 model was stolen from my house on Nov 29th 2010 the same way as the above car. we tried everything but had no luck. now wait here's the catch, ON 19th APRIL 2011, i spotted my car in saddar Rawalpindi, it was bearing a lahore number with LEGAL/ORIGNAL PUNJAB plates (LE-10-649) I chased it and guess what, The car stopped at the house of (ex DG ISI) GENERAL RETD HAMID GUL's daughter, UZMA GUL (owner of VARAN travel in Rawalpindi). I called up my father and we tried to talk it out with that ***** Lady, but she was reluctant to talk or even negotiate as she said her husband was out of pindi, when he returns then we can sort it out. Our badluck was that my father didn't call the police as he trusted her words as she was the daughter of HAMID GUL (ex DG ISI). now cutting the story short, they sent the car somewhere else, the car was sent the very next day it was spotted and the case is still going on in the court.

the sad part is that our beloved police is afraid to even ask them as she is the daughter of a general. Everything we tried is in vain. Ye tou halat hai hamaray mulk k hafizon ki..
there are a zillion black 2.0Ds out there how did u recognize your car out of all of them. to hell with that lady even if she's the daughter of zardari i wouldve done all i could , even going on the media. but the point is how do u know that it was the same very vehicle which was yours? what about the engine or chasis no?if they were tampered then the lab test would reveal that. was it some identification mark like a dent or scratch or what? im just curious as this would help many of us.

Thinking n thinking from the time I came across this thread and the video of that chakwal thief ,I am of the view that the clutch bar provided by rescue 15 is a better thing than tracker or chuc chuc alarm system in these circumstances.

That may be some servant, distant relative, friend etc.
brother i think someone from the indus showroom is connected. thieves must be around the showroom itself and then followed the new owner home. I think before delivery the showroom must have alerted the thieves who would have probably scouted the house for a few days. They way this was done seems like thieves has already some knowledge of the house, meaning they were watching it for few days. My guess is showroom guys are full time involved.
once i read in newsletter how car wash people took keys of cars and made copies. When the owner would come for his car thieves would start following it. And wherever they find the chance thieves will simply use their duplicate key and drive away.
Unfortunately such incidents are becoming more and more common in our country. I seriously doubt that any form of security can protect us from such people. best is to pray and ask protection from Allah. Pray ayat-al-kursi and leave rest to Allah..

in my eyes value of corolla is 0 . the "tension" of it getting stolen is not worth it
EXACTLY my thoughts. If you buy a new car and are not able to enjoy it (for fear of theft) then it is useless. Although I prefer corolla over city, but seeing the current theft trend, city would a better buy. Atleast I wouldn't be running to my garage at middle of the night like a maniac just to ensure that it is still there.

bro. here its a 50/50 situation. it could just be a coincidence as two cars can have the same dent and maybe the same tyres n rims.maybe they are your tyres and rims sold second hand. but the fact that car isnt yours can also be not ruled out. lab test is the only solution that seems to work to prove this thing right or wrong. now that lady can be or may not be driving a stolen vehicle. then another fact is she might be knowing/not knowing that the car was stolen when she bought it as people are so clever that even the MAACHAs get tricked. hope you settle the case. if this is the case that it was actually your car n that lady knew of it then she should be named pulically. if it was a confusion at your end then you should publically say sorry to her as you have falsely accused her and made this case public. i would be anxious to follow this case so that if the top brass or their relatives are involved or a goup is selling stolen cars then this would help uncover the car thieves' modus operandi

A theft attempt was made on my car,and the tracker provider locked it. We came back to home after a trip. Car was at home... I unlocked my car, as I have the genuine key, kicked the ignition but car was dead. Tried to open the bonnet to check the battery, but the button was dead too. Then called the Tracker provider, the CRO asked me to hit the ignition and bonnet opener after 15 sec..... and bingo everything was back in order....True Story....

brother in the video, where does he connect the jammer (at 09.05 in the video) to? does he connect to the cigarette socket?
i am asking this because i never use that. so i can simply have the cigarette socket disconnected. This way thief wont be able to power up his jammer, or atleast so quickly.

chinyoti is rite that is a manual button (which is attached to a wire which pulls the clip holding the hood )and not some electronic one which can be locked remotely. have a look at this video and see for urself how the thief is opening the hood .

Firstly im damn sure that was my car. Rims, tyres, two dents (very minor dents) and bro u tell me how many 2010 2.0d's do u see??
secondly the number which her car had, a same 2.0d black 2010 in lahore has that number and the man in lahore is the real owner. how can two cars hav same numbers???..she had that number of that car on our car. i assure u there is not even an iota confusion because im making it public after a whole year.

Just wondering like everyone suggested there is NO way in hell (except a chawkidar with a double barrel ready to fire) to protect the "ROLLAs" the only thing one can do is make it a bit difficult for the thieves. So I think rather than relying on a tri circle one should probably go for things like zunny suggested atleast if he has to cut it he wouldbe outside visible to while cutting it IF the vardaat takes place in a market or some public place because cutting a lock when one is inside the car is more convenient. But the only security I believe is as suggested earlier is Ayat al kursi.
