Default Cheating/Deception Done by Battery Manufacturers In Pakistan

    Hi guys

*As many of you already noticed that all available batteries weather Car or UPS ones are being sold by the manufacturers with some arbitrary Codes like GL-50 ,NA-60 etc etc... and many of US assume this number to be as the Battery Capacity i.e Amp/hr ..
*So all i want you to always consider the actual Amp/hr the battery Produce . and it is totally comes in Customers cheating that the Manufacturers Not mentioning the capacity on their products if they have to assign codes than they can differ in some other ways why a 32Amp/Hr battery is being Sold as GL-50 ..*
*and every year the number is increasing in old days they mentioned the battery ratings/capacity on the Product (they still print on the products which they sell to Indus motors).

So please be careful . i am also thinking to report this matter in consumer court.

That chart is like a shopkeeper telling you that I can "andaaza" that this aata weighs 1 kilogram and not use a scales.

What we want is the claimed RC, CA and CCA of the battery.
I think only a consumer court force manufacturers to mention these. Will try to talk to my lawyer friends.

carbon pile load tester - no vendor/bettary wala will allow you to do that test to full capacity - they only test it to a scant 100A load - which is like poking with a sapling

I think its a written law that any item sold in retail has to have its standards of weight and measures on it. Just like the aata example I gave you. You cannot sell 1/2 kilo aata and pack it as 1 kilo - thats criminal. Very similar for nearly everything including batteries.

^ Please go read off the specs of the Hankook battery, they are printed on the top sticker. Or look up the spec from the model code. That is the problem we are discussing.

Yes - this data is standardised all around the world. By this data one can see that such battery is good for one's car.

e.g. that battery says 400CCA, good for small to medium petrol engines in mild to warm weather, and the alternator will be suited to it. If I use the same in my diesel Benz it would die in two revolutions, my car requires 1000CA to turn the engine quick enough that it fires and requires a european shape sunken terminal battery.

Now if I did not have such data, how would I choose the battery I need.

The battery installed by MB is made by Bosch and is 120Ah (20hr), 900CCA and 150 min RC. If I want a similar battery how would the Pakistan manufactures match it? Wild a$$ guess? voodoo? jadoo dhuaan baba?

I did not know it before Xulfiqar bhai told us in this thread. As soon as the importers, distributors get a hint of it they are going to remove this info from batteries, even print fudged stickers and paste them.

One can always test against those "fudged" printed values and kick them for bad batteries.

agree with the poster. The manufacturers here have their monoply . and they hike price every 2 months and give a fake code to their product.

lol consumer court cant do anything..
gl-50 is model number not the number of amperes it has.. if u see the catalog or price lift. you will clearly see that amperes are written there infront of battery model.. so dont panic just keep ur eyes open

i ddnt see it on manufacturer's list. Thing is it must be written on the battery/its box/ or on warranty card.
