Reports of a potential criminal scam in the area of Sector F/7-2. In this scam, a male passenger of a Toyota Corolla attempts to initiate contact with pedestrians and lure the victim closer to the vehicle by impersonating an anti-narcotics officer or other government authority. The suspect then demands identification and to search the victim?s belongings. The suspect will likely start the conversation by asking if the pedestrian speaks English or Urdu.
Officials believe these encounters are criminal in nature and that the suspects are attempting to rob pedestrians who are walking alone, possibly targeting foreigners returning from the market with shopping bags. To date, the reported incidents have occurred during weekend afternoons.
The suspect?s vehicle is a white, late-model Toyota Corolla. The occupants are two males, a driver and one front-seat passenger, both of whom appear to be Pakistani.
The suspect initiating contact, the vehicle passenger, is reportedly clean shaven with slicked-back hair, and wears a three-piece suit and sometimes sunglasses. He has excellent English skills.
