Default Prado ODO Meter Rest Trend

    Hi All,

Please do share your views on how to find out if Prado has ODO meter rest done or reversed. My opinion would be 20,000 to 25000 km can be considered a average drive. There must be a law against such criminal Act.

any good meter repair workshop can tell u that, but they will have to open the speedo. One of my friend had it checked from Toyota.

yes there should be a law but yar these things happen all around the world. It is difficult rather impossible to be curtailed through implementing a law if ever passed.

I think car manufacturers should take care of this issue by designing a non tamperable meter..

Great to know your reviews that there are multiple ways to do the ODO Meter Reset

Just a simple question comes to mind every time i go to Market looking for myself a Prado which has become love of life and great derise to have this car, It is that OK i will go for used one and hope that it was not abused before sending it for sale. But not knowing the life of the car has always scared me the most.

Possibilites the car has done 200k + and at the ODO meter it shows only 20K

Thre are some ODO meter rest or adjustment tools for sale on the websites.cost only arround 80USD plus some taxes. So if used, i guess there will be no way of knowing the age of you drive at all.

Please do help with your generous comments.

the best you can do is check for signs of a tampered odometer, such as the wear on the interior shows higher milage than the odometer etc.

there is funnily no law against this act in PK,.. but then again, what do you expect?
