    Default Hilux 1972

A friend of mine is selling Hilux 1972 chassis. Told me he purchased it from an army auction and that the vehicle was single cabin 4x4. Dont know much about this model. Could any one tell me which body cabins can be installed on this chassis wihtout any modification to the chassis itself.

    Thanks,

A 1972 stock chassis can have anything sit on. As for your concern of what cabins you can install............ANY.

The chassis is the same, even for the SURF. So my friend, Quetta is near, you can take the chassis there and put on a D4D Tiger Unibody on top of it.

    Sky's the limit.
    Good luck.

do note that the surf/4runner arrived in 1984, so dont' go looking for a 72 surf or 4runner the body from 84-89 will fit with no alterations and i think the 1990-1995 model will also fit on this chassis.

do note that in 86 the surf had independant front suspension which really improved handling and on-road stability, but a solid axle would probably be more rugged (ideal for PK)

Thanks Pakwheelers for all the info provided.

The person selling the chassis said that it was a single cabin 4x4 used in the Pak Army. I think that technically it wont be much of a problem to install a Surf body on this chassis but could it be done legally.

Ive heard about a "Body Change" tax which one has to pay. Can this tax be paid while legalizing the vehicle. Has anyone done it before.

    Thanks.

my friend bought same Hilux 72 in auction and put 1993 hilux double cabin body on it without any altrations!

    OOOpppps!!!!

Actually it was Hilux 1984, not 72. and the pix toor showed is 80+ model, it's also not 1972. One can fit any hilux body (upto 1993) without altration on 1984-1990 chassis.
