Islamabad Jeep Club (IJC) is a well established group of diverse individuals around the areas of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Along with our passion for 4x4 entertainment, the group is equally enthusiastic about lending a helping hand to our brothers and sisters who have become homeless, helpless and hungry. Agony & pain with our displaced brothers from SWAT, Dir and other affected areas puts an obligation on our shoulders to step forward and extend our hands to the needy.
IJC has planned to provide support to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). For this noble cause, we have already generated a pool for the contribution that has initially been replenished by IJC members. We invite all our friends, Pakwheelers and persons from all walks of life to step ahead for the donations. We assure you that each penny would be spent through best possible means for this noble cause. We also welcome services of professionals like doctors who are willing to serve. May Allah be with us.

22 day old baby boy who was forced out of the incubator
Ehsan Kiani :
I have never been more saddened in my life. I feel like bursting out in tears but I can't. I just visited a school to see a 22 day old baby boy who was forced out of the incubator, only a few days old then, because of the taliban issue in Mingora. he is suffering from, in all probability, VSD (what is generally called 'hole in the heart') along with failure to thrive (extreme weakness with very little or no weight gain since birth and poor feeding). IJC has taken over all the expenses that will come for her treatment in AFIC rawalpindi. He is here in pindi. Will update on the diagnoses and details as soon as I get it.
Shabab :
This is the IJC group email, which i am making it public without the concent of the author, not to show people what we are doing, but to show every one that things are very serious with swat effecties, and people do need our help, every penny, every little thing counts after all they are our Pakistani brothers & sisters. I hope Doc you dont mind me making your email public, its all for a good cause. I appeal to all the people to come forward and help our fellow country man/woman in what ever way you can.

PROJECT HATHIAN - A helping hand from IJC and Friends
UPDATE 15 May 2009 0200hrs
What is required now...
01 - More food stuff to keep the kitchen running. An estimated Rs. 25000 - 30000 will run the kitchen for one day. And this just for 900 people. There are thousands more just in the neighborhood literally.
02 - A medical camp and medicines: I already have secured 3-4 doctors including myself who have agreed to work there on Sunday. I have already mentioned some medicines above. There is a dire need for lady doctors as the women observe strict parda. Also. A few women are expecting as well.
03 - Bedding.. One set containing a tallai (mattress), sheet and a pillow is available at a wholesale price of Rs. 600 at Nankari Bazar Rawalpindi. We still have 900 people without any mattress just in this premises. 8-10K in just this union council .
04 - Morale.. We need to talk to them and play with there children. Tell them they are not alone. They have hosted us several times when we were young in the beautiful valley of Swat that is their home. Now its our time to make them feel comfortable.. Make them feel at home.. The trauma that they have gone through and are still going through is phenomenal .
05 - Volunteers to help. In administration, distribution, medical camps etc..
06 - Funds and fund generators. Lets spread the word around.
07 - Kitchen utensils like plates, glasses and cooking pots etc. IJC dontated 200 plates but we need more.
08 - Water storage. Buckets, Lotas, etc. Water coolers.
09 - Mosquito repellants. Mosquito nets.
10- Baby diapers, Baby milk. Baby food
11 - Tents...
I may have missed a lot here and I will keep adding to this list from time to time.

UPDATE 14 May 2009 1800hrs
By the grace of God we will be crossing over 2 lac rupees as on tonight since tuesday this week-
Dear All - As informed earlier that one of our fellows has already left for Hathian with 3 shehzores full of relief goods. The details will soon be uploaded on this forum. We shall also have the current requirement of items by tonight as the man returns from Hathian. It would also be uploaded.
One thing we intend to make clear is that we do not accept used clothing, used bedding etc. We have had observed during the 2005 earthquake that most of the used clothing, bedding etc was eventually trashed and did no use. We trust that you better understand our point .
