These never captured a worthwhile market to lose in the first place.

Anyhow Kia has stopped production/assembling in Pakistn so this news has affected reputition/market in a negative way.
They are introducing imported range of vehicles in early 2006, maybe that will make things better.

Kia vehicles are not at all bad. The assembler could not promote the brand. They spent all their energies for the promotion of Santro. Kia Spectra is a wonderful car in its class; price wise and performance wise. It has all the features of a luxury car. Stoppage of its production was very un-wise decision of the assemblers. This car is still liked by many motorists.

Yes. I have a Spectra 2001 model automatic transmission and a Baleno 99 model. I am satisfied with the performance of both these cars.

I guess Dewan Farooque Motors Ltd had to take the decision of stopping the local production of KIA vehicles because of the limited capacity of their assembly plant. Now they are producing only Santro and Shehzore, as both offer better profit margins to the company.
Otherwise all the three KIA cars introduced in Pakistan were great value for money cars.
    Evolution interrupted.

I liked Kia products too and was equally sad when they stopped production here. Lets hope they re-start soon as they were great value for money.

A monogram of TOTOTA at the back of a SPECTRA can make it a 10 lac rupee car and then a used one can be bought for 7 to 8 lac rupees !!
    I guarantee that.

    guys!!

kia spectra had a problem of having high fuel consumption of about 6-7km/litre. i believe its bcz of a outdated engine design.

Most Kia models that are offered in Pakistan like Classic, Spectra and sportage are using outdated/older Mazda engines in their vehicles. US and other markets are getting different specs with modern engines.

classic offers decent value for money, however the styling and design looks outdated.

Agreed, Kia Spectra is a underpowered car and the last models of Spectra sold were of the worst quality and finish. Its a good thing it ended otherwise a lot of people's money would have gone down the drain.
