Thank you for the detailed advice. To answer your questions:

1 - The areas you point out in red are welds and bolts combined. This was designed so that the roof rack can be bolted off as well as the four supports. This would be easy to store that way as we plan to put this on from time to time.

2 - Weight? hmmmm.. I wont be able to give you a firm number here. ?But I will try getting onto the rack myself to check it soon.

You are also right about the sagging issue. There will be some sag here for sure and yes the cross bars would reduce this markedly. But the weight that we plan to use this for should not be an issue. We have used moderately thick walled rectangular pipes just to reduce this sag.

    Thanks for the constructive critisism.

Thank you sir. I can t say that.. I must have seen something of this sort over the net sometime for sure. The hinge at the back is a very basic design and the front support bolts to the windshield frame hinge.

Thank you boss. These are all the pics that I have right now. I will take more pics for you all to see when the Jeep is back in later. Have to add supports for the round corners and later add an easy lock and detach system on the front support so that we can easily open and lock the cage..

PS. Will look forward for the meet boss

Get on it & ask someone to drive over a 1inch pipe. If you bob, you need support under the rack. I see you have an anti-roll bar on the inside. Maybe your rack center can rest on that, over the canvas top. Just throwing you ideas so you can get them all together for an even wonderful thing.

Just remember, any amount of weight, coupled with forward motion & down draft added to the our roads in going to make the item 'bounce' on top.

h2Overall, an excellent craftsmanship. I suggest you now market it too ......Seriously./h2

    Sir,

Job well done. Do you have any similar clever designs for 92 Surf or Prado ? I have recently bought few roof racks but they came without mounting hardware so I need to come up with an easy bolt on solution that woud allow easy removal of the rack.

    Regards
