    Default unimog

    unimog -600435

    unimog -600436

I've recently aquired a Unimog (421.128) and I was wondering if any of you fellas know of a mechanic with some 'mog experience in Karachi. It does seem to need some work and I would like it to be fully sorted and checked out before venturing into the wilds.

    Thanks for your help.

    Indeed!!

Since you are hidden and I think you like it that way!! So its going to be quite foolish to ask you to share a glimpse of your classics?!
    Nothing to see here.

Once I get to know some of you folks, I'll be happy to email you a few pics. But, yeah, I don't want to post them on the forum!

DeeDee, will definitely be able to shed a lot of light on your subject. He just finished completely restoring a 1986 unimog, and it was an awesome punga. If you can get the manuals it would make your life that much easier. Don't worry about parts, Fihsak in Peshawar can help you also.

Very nice, very very nice indeed. What sort of mechanical work are you looking to have done.

Why dont you sell it to me & put the Alfa Romeo in the back with it . I'm trying to place you but just can't get there.

    Hey Sarmad.

As far as mechanical work is concerned, I don't think it will need much beyond checking and replacing seals, gaskets, etc. and checking the diffs and hub drives, brakes, tranny. Essentially, I need someone who is familiar with the vehicle to check it out and do whatever needs doing before it heads into the wild.

Glad that you like the Duetto!

Wah...zabardast addition to ur collection i must say.
As suggested DeeDee can help u with the manuals and if ur mog only needs checkup then u can do it urself by reading manuals i guess.
Qaiser Pal,I have not failed. But found 1 of 10,000 ways which doesn't work.....Toyota driver "I couldn't repair my brakes,so i made my horn louder"..When i was born i was so surprised that i didn't talked to one and half year..since light travel faster then sound, people appear bright until you hear them speak..If u can't convince them, confuse them

Nice to find someone who has stuff, but isn't a show off! Keep it up man!

Pakwheels needs people like you - otherwise we're full of sh*tpots who make threads every single day tipa ''Bought new cleaning cloth for my car'' or ''mosquito sitting on my new ride'' or lately, or showroom owners' sons posting pics of the cars parked in their showrooms as ''papa bought me this new ride''.

Thanks for the kind words, fellas.

@ DeeDee: Thanks, bro. I will assuredly give you a call when I am ready to start it up in the next few days. I checked the pump and it isn't pumping so it is due for a rebuild, and, likewise, the starter motor. I'll also make a trip to Shershah tomorrow or the day after and see what they have sitting around. And rest assured, I'd rather that it just sit there and wait rather than having an incompetent mechanic touch it! Thanks again for your help.

    @batholith
    Welcome to The Team Unimog!
Sir u have got a clean Mog
i would suggest u not to hurry in the restoration project as a single decision can cost u alot in any sense be it monetory or any type of mental stress
M not much in to mechanics but for the feul pump i would sugest if the cost of repairs is having a little difference with that of the replacing and after the cost benefit anaylsis u can go for the best option from shershah
Do consult some mechanics who deal in Mercedes Cargo Trucks they might guide u about the engine stuff
Feel free to contact the The Team Unimog for any kind of Querries
    Regards

WoW & welcome to Mogster Club which is showing good growth from past 8 Months

Very clean indeed. DeeDee & Fishak are right about the mechanic. If you are talking about the fuel pump then there is no big difference between Mog's & Merc 123 240D's pump (Adeel correct me here). Look for a mechanic who have old mercdes parked @ his workshop, he will service it as its diesel pump doesnt go anywhere.

Do you have its rear frame which is installed on the dala?

DeeDee I spotted few down model Mog's Model Speedo Meters, it was huge and had built-in fuel & Temp gauage.
