Guys, Some explaination would be helpful here for the uninitiated. As I understand, you can change the body and engine parts by purchasing these in the market, and as long as the chasis remains the same it is legal enough. There is a process to change the engine number of the car based on the receipt/chit that you get from the spare parts dealer who sells you the engine.
But from what I read above, it is possible to get Safari engine, body parts, suspension, drivetrain changed in Quetta (and possibly Peshawar as well). Obviously, for Toyota you can get all that done from the dealer behind your local pan shop these days..... but then again there are spare parts and there are parts.
We have been looking for body parts for the full sized Cherokee/Wagoneer and have heard unconfirmed stories that these are abundantly available in Quetta. Also generally, it would be very helpful if someone from Quetta/Karachi can enlighted us on how/if that market different from Peshawar.
