Thread: Prado 3.0d T-BELT light is on...what to do?

    Default Prado 3.0d T-BELT light is on...what to do?

    hello guys. the T-BELT light just switched on today when i was entering my home and now it is on. Its a 3-door prado 1998 model 3.0d auto tranny.


    i believe this is the timing belt light....is that correct??? why did it turn on...i guess the belt needs changing??


    and how do i reset the light?
    The SUB will do what the BOX tells it to do!

    Change ur timing belt
    and the light will off automatically

    Changing timing belt. After that disconnect battery terminals to reset the code. Or refer to user's manual, as there must be some other way to reset
    Suggestions required

    Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

    i was a little worried because i dont know anything about the prado.....will change this as soon as possible.
    The SUB will do what the BOX tells it to do!

    Not as soon as possible. change it the next time u take out your car or it may end up damaging the valves

    hehee....just did exactly that!

    the light had turned on at exactly 100,000km. and i changed it the next time i took it out just as panicslayer advised. had to change the timing bearing as well.

    the T-belt light had to be reset manually so had to take out the speedometer and reset it from the rear. opened the dash holding the meter.

    all is good now!
