    Default 4x4Engaged? Siphon Sand!!! 30th Nov 09

Siphon is a continuous tube that allows liquid to drain from a reservoir through an intermediate point that is higher, or lower, than the reservoir, the flow being driven only by the difference in hydrostatic pressure without any need for pumping. It is necessary that the final end of the tube be lower than the liquid surface in the reservoir.

Siphon is located off Gt Road & close to Wagha border where defence canal crosses below sand bed of River Ravi!! Enjoy pics & Videos

Many thanks to everyone for watching and appreciating the video and photos... there were a number of funny kharabis and technical shortcomings in the whole process, but I have come to the conclusion that if one can only poori pao-fy with what the maker provideth us, we can sleep well

@Desert Devil: Many thanks, glad you like it all .... perhaps we need some high speed offroad action around here too

@Syncview: Love your use of "German" excellent stuff....sorry I beat you to the great race, PTCL was on my side I guess....but seriously do post everything soon as your videos are very crispy and always fun to watch second perspective.

@Saidhi: Many thanks....sorry my camera battery konked out before the jumping (guess, I need to invest more on my photography and less on my Jeep)

@RKR, Spidy, LRDefender, Fihsak, AamirBhai, AsadMumtaz and all Others: Many thanks for the kind appreciation. Artist kee bhook: taarriaan !

@Bugsy Bhai: Many thanks for the comments... this video editing stuff is far simper than putting together a ride I am using Final Cut Pro on an old Apple G4 but you can probably also use a PC with a fast processor, some extra memory and large drive. The camera I use is pretty ancient as well, and even mobile phones probably have better quality nowadays.

@Janj: Sir, it was all my pleasure to make the company of the 4x4 Engaged crew and I look forward to seeing you guys again and hopefully testing my Jeep in the sand (having failed repeatedly on the rocks

There are just a few more pics at my end which I will upload later today.

@SK, haha. Yeah, PTCL is still messing with me, I complained but no use as of yet.

Great fun that was. As of now I'm trying to upload another video sized at 59 mB, lets see

Since you have a video of Jason Statham's FJ40 crossing the water, I would like you to post that part separately if possible.

can someone explain how a siphon works for an entire canal? I understand the concept, just not sure how an entire canal first goes under sand and then comes out... or am i missing something here?

    @nomi1234

Pics attached is the exact place where we were having off road. Its a simple water crossing soloution without the cost of pumping the BRB canal water. Water flow direction is marked.

this was a great event, sorry i couldn't post earlier as i had waaaaay too many hardees burgers on the way to islamabad.

Janj- you forgot to mention me as a special guest.

There was sand, on the track and in other parts of the male anatomy, water, rangers, cows, big airs, big races, great friends, great vehicles, pakoras and photographers, but sadly, no nice looking single women! Janj- we have to work on that bro.

Suhaib- the pleasure was all ours. It was great to meet you again, and inshallah hope to do so again in the near future. Hope you enjoyed as the terrain is very different in this part of punjab.

Saidhi, thanks for the excellent company throughout man. Janj, excellent ride bro, i'm loving it. Raza, thanks for the halwa puri and putting sand in places i didn't know existed in my body. Those tires are humango! Bugzy, good seeing you again bro too, we have to work on our midrifs. Deedee, bro, ofcourse i remember that bloody ranger aiming his g3 on my forehead, trust me, will never forget it. Ab aa bhee jaa islamabad. Bigali, nice new ride.

I also thought the hilux performed well, raza, thank your friend for picking me up.

    Let me end by saying:

    "excellent find janj!!!!!!"
deedee, still have not seen the same statement from you, wake up man

    rkr.

    "excellent find janj!!!!!!" :p
