    Thanks @Mitsuman and Desertdevil. I think the consecutive rear wheelies are the reason @Saidhi got the evo

    Two corrections

    1. Pajero Ruled,,, its past now
    2. Bought Evo because it was the cheapest A Category vehicle that can get me a podium, its not the fastest but has the best handling, which combination can land you on the victory stand

    Rear wheelie is extremly dangerous, had something like this on Jimny in Cholistan 2010 and could not keep the vehicle straight. I think the pajero in question was being driven by a very able and lucky driver

    @saidhi

    Good seasoned appreciation there amigo.....my teeny weeny two cents...

    1. It still rules.....you only require a set of beholder's (or perhaps Mitsu) eyes!
    2. Cheapest YET gets you a podium....need I debate???....obviously its the best then!
    2. Rear wheelie....controlling shouldn't be too complicated.....FLOOR IT when it lifts is the golden rule....and yes the driver was NOT JUST ONLY LUCKY as....
    a) He was selected to represent team Mitsubishi/Ralliart......can't be just another HIACE driver tearing down the M1
    b) And had the balls to do it when it happened at that high speed!!...... (am pretty sure mine would have failed miserably)
    3. Cat 'A' stats on podiums in local circuit....EVO still rules!!!......and perhaps you are the next one to add another feather...... to your own cap and the Evo's glorious past....inshallah!

    @Mitsu-man

    Expression "Pajero Ruled" was suggested because Mitsubishi opted not to compete in rallies for the time being and it left while not on top.

    Though, reliability of Mitsus in Dakar was exemplary, yet, equally reliable diesel powered VWs proved to be much faster than gasoline powered Pajeros. There are reasons why Europeans managed to develop diesel engines more than the Japanese, yet, thats a separate discussion and does not change the fact that VW's dominated in the last 3 years.

    For local circuit, completely agree on first of the two point number 2s. Regarding point number 3, while I am optimistic that Evo can out perform Nadir's LC, yet, the situation is that because Ronnie drives 3-4% percent less than the limit and Ashraf Bhai, since his accident on RX-7, is physically not 100%, result is that no one has beaten Nadir/his LC conbination fair and square since Jhal 2008.

    Another, though less reffered, yet, very good Evo driver is Anas Khakwani, but Anas Bhai's Evo is triptropnic, which lacks the little extra pick/power of manual Evo, so, ironically, while Evo has the potential, it is not currently ruling locally as well.

    When in rally on Evo, Inshallah during the forthcoming season, will do my level best. I only lack in skills, not the commitment. Hopefully with some experience, someday will shine in A Category as well, but for that, will require your technical support and continous prayers.

    Rear Wheelie---- will add two videos of my jump/rear wheelie and than discuss why I mentioned that the driver was able as well as lucky. In theory, you are right that all one needs to do is keep straight and "floor it", yet, trust me, its not so simple. There are many factors that are beyond the control of the driver and which change the situation in an instant. Lucky for this Mitsubishi driver, he faced none of those adverse factors.

    @saidhi

    Great videos......can't wait to see the EVO flyin' higher and longer.....and landing you in a straighter line.....the way you go, you'll fare much much better in a MITSU than a ZUKI!
    About the stats part.....One, Nadir was beaten all ends up in Mithi Rally 2009 by Ronnie in his EVO! And also in Hub Rally 2010...... when the mighty TOYota gave up on him and Raheel got the title driving his uncle's( Ashraf's) EVO!!!
    Secondly, I would not write Ashraf off altogether......probably he needs some time and I think there is a fair chance of him bouncing back to the top! And then there is Ronnie......a mathematician who plays a calculated game by aiming at the second or third slot and if Nadir makes a mistake.....voila.... destination numero uno it is! Khakwani is another contender but has a long way to go!
    Chances of your hitting the podium the first time you enter the big boys league, frankly, might look bleak ..... but if you keep your head clear and drive fast enough to finish, don't see any major hurdle in keeping you away from the podium!
    My advice.....fancy jumps and landings only make good You Tube material..... unlikely to yield anything fruitful......analyze and learn from the mistakes committed in the past and that should be the way forward!!!
    Times change as nothing lasts forever ...... maybe its your turn to rule now, amigo!

    Thanks Saidhi for sharing the videos and experience! Look forward to more. These videos of your Jimny came to mind when watching the Pajero rear wheelies, these are essentially the only two incidents I have ever come across of this phenomenon, at least to such a pronounced extent.... Lucky indeed for both to drive away safely! May Allah keep all participants and spectators of this mad sport safe!

    I know bhai it was a mistake to hit that jump with speed, Sufian and I were unaware of this jump otherwise would certainly have endeavored to avoid it.

    Race was on 20th Feb, we did reccee twice on 17th and 18th, both times at on 4M40 at speeds of about 60-70. 19th was qualifying and I opted not to do the reccee and rest for the big day ahead. During Reccee this was not a jump, just a drive over a small dune and that is why Sufian and I did not even bother to mark it as an obstacle on GPS.

    As you must be knowing yourself, the problem with sand tracks is that it changes when hundreds of vehicles pass over it, places where there were no jumps, develop jumps and previously present jumps just vanish when sand is moved around by passing vehicles.

    Further, the reason why the navigator or I could not detect it during rally was firstly the sunlight, you can see from the shadows that its around 11am. Sunlight reflecting off sand makes it difficult to assess the changed conditions. Also, I have hardly any experience of sand rallies, Infact I entered 4 in all, had three rolls and one blown engine. My results in rallies with less sand or no sand are much better, 7 rallies, 4 podiums, only one DNF, that too because of a broken axle. Have to learnt the art of driving on sand, thats why, Inshallah, next time the strategy would be different
