    A_K,
    This model of Dihutsu is a very capable offroad machine. One of my friend have this type of vehical (sarkari) & we use to do lots of offroading.Yes it is worth to restore it if you want to use it for family as well as offroading pupose.
    1st describe the utilization of the vehical.
    2nd pics of the vehical u want to buy.
    3rd price of the subject vehical (final price)
    4 detail condition..reg engine,body,gear,diffs 4wd etc
    5 -2L Toyota is much heavier for this vehical.I will recomend you toyota 3c turbo with Dihutsu Rocky 5fwd manual gear with manual 4x4 (low & high range).
    Also use rocky diffs (16x37) .This all will cost you about 150k (all kabuli saman) & about 15k as labour for installtion. As its a Dihutsu model so no alteration. All bolt in fittings..we can also look into its exsisting gear & diffs (they might be in good shape & than there is no need to purchase) will also reduce your cost by 55k.
    But over all its a very good machine & worth to buy.
    Plz ans the above mentioned question than I will be in a better position to guide you as I have previous experience of Keeping Diuhtsu Rocky jeep & used the same machine in my Willys jeep.
    Stay well
    Regards,
    Fahad

    Daihatsu is a beautiful machine. It is amazing to find a lot of interchangeable parts between Toyota and Daihatsu. The only weakness in my opinion is traction. Toyota exceeds Daihatsu in all aspects of traction. However, price and power are both a plus. It depends on the price for the machine. If in the region of a hundred grand, or lower, and the body is reasonably sound, My vote is FOR.

    @all, Thanx for the feedback
    I went ot inspect the vehicle on sunday, well I dont know why people hide the facts on phone !

    The body is all rusty, with holes in doors, engine is blown but still alive, I was really angry to see such thing, word "average" is too good to be used for such condition vehicle, I live in defence and wnet all the way near power house chowrangi (north karachi) to see this !!

    thanx @members , for your input, I will continue my search for sum decent vehicle
    If better were within, better would come out.

    Reminds me of my visit to Lahore from Islamabad to check LCs and Pajeros. What a waste of time and money it was
