PMRC's Rashid Abdullah and his navigator Kh. Shehzad on their 2500 Triton (C Catagory)

Sadly, I came to know after finishing the rally that the Triton rolled over 6 times after loosing traction on a straight patch, where it was doing around 140 km/h. The reason I could not see it during my run was that after rolling over it ended up 300 yards off the track. With the Grace of God, Rashid and Kh. Shahzad escaped even a scratch.

As a tribute to this great driver's great vehicle that won many rallies, Pics of Triton's last launch

Mukesh Chawala, Minister of Excise and Taxation, Sindh, driving his modified 2500cc vigo. Mukesh came 2nd in his C Catagory.

Mukesh launched on the second stage 8 minutes after Triton and despite rallying himself/being a podium contender, had the sportsman spirit to slow down and ask if Rashid and Shehzad are fine. Mekesh also informed the organisers and CP-4, who sent back an ambulance and a recovery vehicle for the Triton's driver and navigator.

Good going Mukesh, keep it up, thats why i consider fellow ralliest a Family

After Jimny left, Anwar and Naveed packed up the Defender and waited there till they confirmed from the organisers that we have crossed CP-4, which was at a distance of around 40 kms from the launch.

Thereafter, they moved to the finish line via main road and waited for us to arrive.

The first one to cross the finish line after Anwer and Naveed reached there was Gohar Sanghi. He was first amongst the D catagory vehicles to cross the finish line and his time for the second stage was 1:34:16, giving him the total time of 2:45:21 for the 190 km track

Our Jimny was the second to cross the finish line with the 2nd stage time of 1:33:34, giving us the total rally time of 2:42:46. As in the 1st stage, our second stage time also turned out to be the best amongst all D Catagory participants, thus giving us the overall victory.

Subsiquent best times in 2nd stage were 1:34:16 by Gohar Sanghi, 1:36:07 by Amin Ullah Khan, 1:36:37 by Shaheen Iqbal and 1:37:37 by Manzoor Magsi.

When the time of both stages was added up, Gohar Sanghi and Shaheen Iqbal were declared 2nd and 3rd with the respective total time of 2:45:21 and 2:46:53, whereas Amin Ullah and Manzoor Magsi came 4th and 5th with the time of 2:48:34 and 2:48:37 respectively.

Its only natural to relax after crossing the finish line but on 3 occasions I have witnessed drivers flipping over after completing the rally. This rally was no different, Amir Magsi and his navigator M. Afzal, after completing the rally in their B Catagory Vigo rolled after corrosing the finish line. Still their time was best amongst the catagory participants thus were declared winners.

Although after finishing the rally, I came to know about the unfortunate roll over of the Triton, yet, its severity was not know. Soon, Rashid and his navigator Kh.Shahzad arrived the rally village on transport arranged by the organisers. Rashid informed about the state of his vehicle, thus my Defender and Sardar Hassan's recovery vehicle (Vigo) carrying Rashid, Sardar Hassan, Mujahid Zafar, Sardar Hassan's mechanic Tariq, my driver Anwar and my navigator Usman left to recover the Triton.
