Default Movies on 4x4 Adventures

It will be interesting to watch a movie on Off-Road Adventures
However, till date, I haven't found an interesting one.
In good old days, there was some TV Program, where a young man had some special 4x4 pick up that used to jump, and move up and down. But I do not have any reference to that and do not remember any names, etc. also.
Any guidance?

Not sure if you meant something like this, but the Offroad Pakistan's Thar video comes to mind:

Yep, Subhani sb. That shows good action. However, what I meant was something like a movie, with whatever story or something it has, but with a good adventure type off-road journey.
I think Irshad (Vietnam) mentioned something like a Land Rover movie, quite old, but I have not seen it.
Irshad, could you get me that?

That may be, but.............
What I actually meant was something like an adventurous journey, into the wilderness, and with real 4 x 4 stuff.
So, for some Top Gear and Fifth gear will do, but I was trying to get to something with a different philosophy.
thanks anyway, and please do keep an eye out, Sir,
Thanks

do a search for the "darian gap",.. many have tried only one has made it.

also like momin said, the latest topgear adventure/challenge is quite amusing.

Thanks, I will try.
What is 'Darian gap' actually?
And Storm, you did not give me a reference to your third quote "Genius has limits: Stupidity has none". this is a very fascinating sentence. I like it.

Irfan Sb,

I think what you are looking for is some African safari type movie. they always have Land rovers in them.
An excellent movie that I recently watched is 'Gods must be Crazy'
I highly recommend everyone to watch it. It is lots of fun, excellent Old-school defender in it (with a very powerful winch).. and if you like, its highly philosophical aswell, specially the beginning.
I watched it online, don't think you can rent it or buy it here.
I'd recommend watching the full movie, but if you can't, check out following clips on youtube involving Defender
YouTube - Gods Must Be Crazy 1 - Land Rover - Part 1
Here's link to part2

Thank you Nauman Sb. As a matter of fact, Veitnam gave me full set 1, and 2 of The Gods must be Crazy. And by co-incidence, I watched the first part today, because I was having some Respiratory Tract Infection and could not attend to my regular duties.
The part 1 definitely is a beautiful movie. However, I am looking for something similar but with more 'apparently' serious expression of off-road capability of any vehicle.
Yes, it looks similar to Veitnam's new ride. I drove that and it is absolutely wonderful.
Thanks. and pl. keep an eye. I remember seeing a movie back in 80's which showed a 6x6 Russian truck going a long way in desert and other rough terrain. Again, I do not have a clue as to what was the name.
See you around Sir,

The Darien Gap.

The Darien Gap remains the last gap in the Pan-American highway from North to South America. It was ever the major obstacle to one of the last epic car journeys to be achieved - the trip from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego.
Now, Patricia Upton has produced an Adventurer's Guide to Crossing the Darien Gap (details below). This 40 page guide includes a wealth of information for the expeditioner - getting there, shipping, embassies, paperwork, customs and legal matters, accommodation, health and medicine, contacts, sources of information, politics and guerrillas(!), and of course the route.
Patricia Upton is well qualified to write about the Darien Gap. Loren Upton has traversed the area (with others) in 1976, 1977 and 1979, and with Patricia and others in 1985 - 1987 and 1995. Between 1985 and 1987 they completed the first all land crossing of the gap in a 1966 Jeep CJ5 (earlier crossing included floating vehicles down rivers or through the Atrato Swamp). In 1995 the Uptons, with Juan Rivas, traversed the gap using a two wheel drive Rokon Trail-Breaker motorcycle.
The guide includes such sobering notes as

1976 One expedition member mysteriously shot and killed.
1977 Jeep lost in accident in Ecuador.
1979 Jeep lost to an unsavory encounter with a Columbian Park official.

This is plainly not a trip for the novice.

Default Thanks DeeDee

I had a look at the article on Darien gap, at 4WD on line.
Fascinating. But keep an eye open for any other interesting opening.
'The Gods Must Be Crazy' Part 1, I think, was more interesting than Part 2. But still it is a philosophical and humorous movie, rather than one concentrating on action/adventure/off-roading. So, "The Quest For Perfection Must Continue". (Rickwood)
Hope to keep in touch.
