This was a lovely event, with lots of potential for the track, even more potential for the MIA guys with diff locks. Had extreme amount of fun, even though I have to say that Amir Bhai is a very good photoshopper and has ensured my stomach is 9-months in. Amir Bhai, I will get you for this one day

Do check out some more pics from my end on the IJC Forum:
Islamabad Jeep Club • View topic - IJC track hunting near Bahara Kahu on 24 th Jan 2010 Pics

And for the record, I just wanted to clarify that both Ehsan and myself have older DV video cams as opposed to newer HD gizmos. As a result, I have to (1) transfer videos onto the computer (2) edit video clips, though one can skip this but have not done so as yet (3) Process edited video for upload (4) upload quite a large file onto youtube. The whole process by itself is quite time consuming and once you start with it to me it makes little sense to skip (2) and upload un-edited clips to save some time.

So kindly do hold onto your horses in case there is ever an inordinate delay in videos from my end as the whole thing is not always as simple as it may seem. The offroading videos are a lot of fun for everyone, but of late I am getting worried that they are cannibalising on some of the other video projects I had planned.

There was an issue with the hub locks and the 4x4 was not engaging. I think my old friend Qasim Chohan was somewhat overwhelmed by his first IJC exposure and was gunnin' the accelerator too hard with the low geared (probbaly 4.875) 1KZ motor excessively spinning out rear wheels in 2wd. It does not have the 1HD as I previously thought. I believe a friend of mine in Peshawar has the 2008/9 1HD Police edition 70 monster with the newer bigger square lights and sqaurer fenders.

Yesterday I also figured out what gives the 70s its unshakeable desi reputation as "the best offroad vehicle": its simply the most comfortable short wheelbase 4x4 you will find around, you actually feel like Emperor Akbar on top of his Royal Elephant crushing kafir stones and bushes under your springy suspension. Mana ke aisey to nahin ham sab Toyota pe eeman le aayey!

A good event. Although i must say the thorny bushes did tremendous damage to many vehicles. I discovered two flat tires this morning, with a total of 8 punchtures...
I'm sure a few others had met the same fate.

Some of the members also got punctures in their feet
Malik Sb, thanks very much for the long ride in the GPW. I am utterly impressed with it. Your technique was also excellent. Had good fun with Charged in his Defender and Nomi it was great to meet you and you have a great ride also. Must say TLC's reputation preceded him and it was great to watch the monster do its thing. Great fun!
