    After selling my BJ, i have purchased this cruiser and believe its a good deal. So would like to share it with you all.

    Description
    FJ 62, 1989 model, original 3F 4000cc petrol engine , 4Fwd transmission, standard vehicle.

    Condition
    The body has no paint or spray on any part of the body, 0% rust, the engine nuts bolts never touched/ opened, my mechanic opened the carburettor last week for the first time for cleaning purpose, having the same fan belts being fixed in 1989, all body seals in original condition, original seats, and overall all equipment and related accessories in total original condition. As per the land cruiser official site, this 3F produces the maximum horse power amongst all these 60's and 62's, and that is 155HP. Last week, i checked the average from Isb to Pesh on a speed of 120, and it was around 7KM's/ ltr. I hope if run around 100 and 110, it may improve a bit.
    A 3F giving an average of 7? Are you sure? Last I heard no 3F has ever gone beyond 3-4 kms/ltr even on the lightest of foot on the gas pedal. BTW nice find. Congrats!!

    Beautiful!
    @noman8ff
    Brother can you direct me to the guy who did your carb for you. My FJ70 does not get any better than 5.5km/l even when driven at 80-90 on highways. I know the guy who did my carb was a noob and it really needs to be re worked. Also could you tell me if your diffs and tranny are the same ratio as the one on the 70s, because FJ70s with the same 3f struggle beyond 120km/h so im guessing the diffs/gear ratios are different. Regards and congratulations on your purchase.

    Thank you everyone for the nice comments. Believe me i am really very happy to have these valuable remarks.

    @ Ace & HamzahF, I am a member of "ih8mud.com" and "land cruiser club of south Africa" as well since long, which i believe are the biggest forums of land cruisers in the world. Over there, in the fuel consumption registry, there are many FJ 62's giving an average of even 9KM/ ltr. Mine was initially giving 5 and that's why the carburettor was opened for the first time. I changed the kit which was very cheap and costed me only 500 Rs. I changed the main two jets ie slow and high speed. Than the mixture was also adjusted. So the result was good. And i believe the FJ 70 should give even better mileage because of its weight which is slightly less than the 62.

    @ HamzahF, brother i live in Islamabad and the workshop where my mechanic works is at Khadda Market, sector G 7. I believe you are at Lahore??? I would recommend that go to a qualified mechanic who is willing to give you time on "hit and trial basis", which is very important in such issues. Every thing which is related to mileage is within the carburettor, its jets and mixture. Keep trying and keep adjusting them, you'll get the results. It took me around 8 days to get hold of this issue.

    Default Front Axle Maintainance

    Hello,
    Have you checked the front knuckles for grease, and the wiper seals for condition etc. How is the knuckle ball?
    Its is a 20 year old vehicle, and as yo said there are lots of old things on this one, which also means, that some maintanance might have been skipped. Take a few pics and post em.

    check out your transfer case/ front axle oil as well.

    I have a 91 prado with solid front axle and just did a full complete axle service a little while backmyself. changed the axle seals, new bearings/reces. gaskets etc.

    take care.
