    Question Restoration of Lazzaz

After her last glorifying act of winning the night mud rally, Lazzaz died on the way back from Lahore. She was a heart patient and got real excited after winning the rally and hence the heart failure.

Below are the pictures of her after winning the rally.

I was opting for 3C turbo engine but due to the scarcity of diesel engines in the market, 3S will be the new motor.
Engine has been purchased and hopefully, I will be getting Lazzaz back sometime next week. What should be must to do/consider for replacing 2C turbo with 3S????

Has anyone done this swap? Do I need to change the gears? Current setup is Rocky 5 speed gear and differentials.

After the engine, next step will be suspension upgrades to take the abuse in rally conditions. What needs to be done to improve stability at high speeds? Will dual shocks on all four wheels help???

Any kind of valid/invalid wild ideas and suggestions are highly welcomed.Restoration of Lazzaz - 67786

    Unhappy

Poor Lazzaz, its sad to see a winner die out like that, but then again it was no joke winning that achievement either.
As for the engine, enlighten a bit as to what vehicle came equipped with it and what currently do were you running in it ?

As for your suspension, YES you can put in dual shocks at each end, but keeping the existing spring leaves may stiff the ride to a great extent. Suggest you lesson the # of springs and add an aux shock. Reduce the leaves only when you feel the ride's of standard.

    Good luck.

Ahsan bhai, 3S will not make it rally like.. u will miss the diesel turbo

i have seens some 3RZ-FE's around.. they are better motors.. or check the Y-series engine.. 4Y is probably 2.2L petrol comes in Hilux.

but as you have already bought the engine.. try it.. you might like it.. its going to be very economical

    Akif,

As per your suggestion, i have looked into the possibility of 2RZ-FE and 3RZ-FE. Both the engines are quite big and would involve a lot of modification in the body.

3S was the only option without the alteration of body. As mentioned earlier on IJC forum, I will attempt one rally and if rally bug does bug me after the participation, I might replace the engine or get one rally specific jeep.

Now the big question is how to get stability. bigger tires will end up eating the power and engine has to work extra hard to rotate them. I will try 265-70-15 Geolander ATS to get the feel of it after the suspension upgrades.

Not sure what will be the upgrades though.

my prayers go out to the departed powerplant, InshAllah the next one will take lazzaz to more wins. My suggestion is for a 3S-GE (any) since it has plenty of torque and i'm against turbos on real offroaders (more to go wrong).

I cannot comment on the suspensino as i'm not that good with offroad setups.

Congrats for the Big win , That's another feather in the cap of Lazaz, the old engine took U to Shimshal, did numerous IJC events & finally brought the cup home, 2C turbo ke Jayho!

3S sounds more environment friendly option, I am not sure how would it negate the water crossings in the northern regions.

It should be a 3S-GE, saw on ein PEshawar and asking price was 50K

Also Rocky Gear and DIff will kill the performace. Get transmission from a Townace 4x4 along iwth DIff. That will make it real high speed off roader with torque at high end which is what you need in Cholistan.
