    Question Restoration of Lazzaz

    After her last glorifying act of winning the night mud rally, Lazzaz died on the way back from Lahore. She was a heart patient and got real excited after winning the rally and hence the heart failure.

    I was opting for 3C turbo engine but due to the scarcity of diesel engines in the market, 3S will be the new motor.
    Engine has been purchased and hopefully, I will be getting Lazzaz back sometime next week. What should be must to do/consider for replacing 2C turbo with 3S????

    Has anyone done this swap? Do I need to change the gears? Current setup is Rocky 5 speed gear and differentials.

    After the engine, next step will be suspension upgrades to take the abuse in rally conditions. What needs to be done to improve stability at high speeds? Will dual shocks on all four wheels help???

    Any kind of valid/invalid wild ideas and suggestions are highly welcomed.Restoration of Lazzaz - 67786

    Latest pictures.

    Engine installed. Radiator cleaned with new outlets for smaller pipes.
    Gear is moved forwarded. Drive shafts redone as engine has to be placed at a different location.

    New battery to be installed as there is no room for big battery. Fuel tank cleaned with new fuel pump installed.

    Tomorrow the electrical work will be done. Radiator fan is with lathe machine guy for modification due to space constraint.

    Once all the mechanical bits are done, Lazzaz will be on its way to Ustaad Jameel Awan at city Saddar road for extra fuel tank and other mods

    Bobby,

    Initial plan was 3CT, but it was not available in market and was quoted @ 95,000. 1KZTE are available @80-85K.

    Due to engine bay space limitation, 3S was the choice.
    Engine is available in market @ 45k-60k. For the engine swap in Lazzaz, I will find out the total cost tomorrow. The initial deal was 65K where the mechanic was suppose the get the jeep running. Old 2CT is also ustaad's property.

    Now looking the amount of extra work/things that ustaad had not anticipated before have come into the picture. I think, the final cost will be around 70K + cost of new battery.

    This was a hassle free deal as each and every bit has been purchased by mechanic and I will be having 15 days warranty on engine after getting it from mechanic.

    Quality of work seems quite decent.

    Best of luck brother sounds good as all the stuff is becoming new with engine aswell so i am seeing lazaz in action in our group very soon again Inshallah.Good Luck.

    2C is not missed at all. Performance is much better as we are comparing around 70 horses with 137.

    Yesterday we took it to Rohtas fort with IJC and it behaved really good. Average on highway is between 12-13 Km.

    Still a lot of small thing are to be taken care of but overall, it turned out to be good performer.

    SK,

    Engine done and performed good at Rohtas. Later had some issues with front differential (it was giving clicking noise when 4x4 was engaged), sort that out. Gear stated to cry and was having clicking noise. All the bearings were replaced with "GANIIANE" bearings. It started to give shrilling sound. 4x4 gear box was checked and later the internal (gears) were replaced.
    All four shocks are replaced with "Kabli maal".

    Now after getting it back, I was having diesel like performance. Checked with the mechanic and found that the right gears were not found so some "Juggar" was done to fix the 4x4 gear. Basically they have manipulated the gear ratios that needs to be fixed. Per mechanic, he is still looking for the right gears.

    I will bring it at coming IJC's event for expert advice on further work.

    Once I am done with mechanical issues, it is due for a visit to Jameel Ustad for rollcage, auxiliary fuel tank and other minor works.

    @parapilot...

    kindly guide me about the off road perpormance and relibility of this engine as compared to the diesel 2C one as i myself planning to swap my Suzuki LWB's 2C engine with this 3s one. but i am confused regarding the reliability cause my current set up had never cost me any trouble in the may. even though it gives up after reaching home saftely :-).
