    Default Offroads New Ride

    Dear All

yesterday I purchased my new ride
    Toyota Jeep fj40
    Model 1984
    Engine capacity 6 cyliner Toyota 2f (4200cc)
    Gear stock 4 fwd
    Breaks drum
Its a military auction Vocher April 2010

I purchased it for 275 K & now restoration begins.
I want to restore it in original petrol engine.Body is amucluate in condition & jeep is start even in this halat
So yesterday I send it to Shah Mechanaic F-10 markaz Isb for restoration of machinery only.that means cleaning of diffs, gear, engine, all oil changes, servicing of breaks, rpl of master cylinder & serva booster, electrition work....
after that will see the performance of the vehicle & than will decide about the colour & other bueatification.
Will also need advices from you guys as this is my first experience of a Toyota FJ model.
I hope U will like my efforts.
    Regards
    fahad

    Dear All

Thank you so much for the appreciation & comments.
I sold my LWB against Rs:370,000/- & purchased this 6 cylinder beast.
Suzuki was very economical but was not giving me the required power.More over I was always fan of Toyota FJ series. This time I will restore it in petrol with original looks .
Being a family man I need a high speed vehical whom can bare my offroad abuse, lonng trips , easy availablity of spares, high resale value & in low price tag.Toyota FJ was the best answer I got.So decided to go for it.
Well lets pray that I can restore it with a very tight budget.
And the bike i purchase is awsome..I love it..Although I left biking long time back but this bike attracts me like any thing, fast, offroad, cheap & good looking. What you guys say?

    Nice looking FJ. Congrats!

I saw these parked near Kharian on main GT road a few days back.

This thing can be a beast in the right hands. Best of luck in the restoration process.

Masha-Allah the jeep looks like it's being taken care of.So 275k is the purchase price now wat would be the estimated restoration cost tht u have calculated in ur mind.

i had a RD350 aboutt 4 years ago. It too was 2 stroke 2 cylinder Yamaha but with a bit more power and it was a street racing machine. but engine tech was the same...so if you need help /advice please do call. my number is 03009422749. one word of caution...there is a rubber seal on the middle of the crank dividing both cylinder sides....if that seal is leaking it will either not start or will never run smoothly. Carb jetting also has to be changed...based on how the bike is running. when u call i will explain...as I did a lot of tweaking on my 350 2stroke screamer.

My current project is a FJ40 that I have mostly completed.

    Default Front Axle Service

    Hello and Congrats,
Please make sure you perform the front swivel housing service with all new axle seals and clean and fill birfs with moly fortified grease. you have to take the axles out for this service.

New front/rear bearing would not be a bad option.

I wonder how much is a front axle service kit in Pakistan & what brands are available.
I performed the service on my LJ78 solid front axle. thread link here, if someone wants to read.

    LJ78 Prado Axle Service How-to

    Thanks & take care.

Yeah the updation & restoration work is 80 per cent complete.
I changed all the 4 shocks, front hubs complete.
new break leathers, all oils, free wheel hubs, paint job completes, electrition work done, few minor adjustments & it will handed over to the poshish wala for hud & interior work..
pace of work got slow due to rains as dentor painter were way behind their schedule.
