    Default Build a Project 4x4

    anyone interested in building a project 4x4 with me from the ground up based on locally available components. I am willing to finance the project with the initial funding of 100,000 and 35,000 per month for 6 months.
    I don't want to convert a willys or cjs. Want to build a proper 4x4 with SUV capabilties. Preferablly be a range rover, defender 90, land cruiser... (looks are as important as performance)

    @yasir
    You are right FJ maybe costlier, but if there is little difference between the FJ and the CJ then offcourse will go for FJ, but if a great difference then will think of other options. CJ is at the last of my list, but you never know.

    before we start putting any money, i would advise that we make a project plan. The project plan should have the list of all the components that are needed to build the 4x4 (based on what is available in the market). We shall identify the phases of how the build has to be put together so that money can be arranged accrodingly.
    For example first phase after having the project plan completed is to have a suitable chassis (not necessary FJ, but anything other than CJ). Once the chassis is there we can start fixing it, making the body, engine and suspension mounts, rust, primer, paint, e.t.c. The 2nd phase can be getting the engine, steering, differentials, suspension, brakes, tires, rims, e.t.c (all the mechanics), then placing them onto the pre-built and fixed chassis.
    3rd phase can be electronics, interior e.t.c. 4th phase can be performance modification and tuning e.t.c

    Just an idea!

    Microsoft Project is good tool to create/maintain project plans. We(IT People) use it to create plan for our software projects. but it is as useful for any type of project.
    Also you can define Milestone update progress. Overall very usefull product.
    May be i can help in creating and maintaining the project plan.

    Thanks,
    Wajhi

    Everyone,

    If you guys would notice from my new thread I have moved to Karachi now, and am now dead serious getting this project off ground.

    https://www.pakwheels.com/forumreply_az_TopicID!67941~ForumID!16~pw.html

    If anyone in Karachi has a decent Land Rover Defender, Double Cabin Toyota Hilux or a Mercedes G-Class that can act as a donor for this project, then please drop a line. Please bare in mind these vehicles do not necessary need to be in the running condition and they should cost under 300k.
