I plan to replace original 2.8l diesel engine on my rocky jeep with a 2.0l toyota 3Y petrol engine. My question is can I keep the four speed transmission that came with that original diesel setup or are there some ratios etc involved that r going to affect performance? Do I have to replace transmission as well?

I work only because it pays for three F's. Food for me, Fuel for my bike and Film for my camera.

You have to replace gear also because the eng & gear have to match.

3Y is the engine that was originally offered by company in the petrol version of this jeep.
