    Question Project CJ-5...Help needed!

    Hello Pakwheelers!

Need help with a friend's project. I will be actively involved in it as well.

We need to build a CJ-5. If the experts and veterans could help with costs

    1- Army Auction, without engine.
    Price?
    Registration cost?
    Yearly token?
Price of decent rims and tires
Price of a Land Cruiser dashboard and seats?

    Thank you,

Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside us while we live.

Why not just buy one which is already in the required condition. Saves pain and money, mostly the pain of building one?

I am fully aware, but we will be building it to our specifications with proper wiring and a petrol engine. Buying a prepped up Jeep and then stripping it down would be more expensive.

Buying a "faarigh" ready ? Jeep would require the same amount of work and money as an unprepared Jeep.

So... My questions remain there. I know there are quite a few Pakwheelers who know the answers to my questions.

In that case following are my answer next to your questions

1- Army Auction, without engine. Price? Ranges from 60k to 100k or maybe more but average around that. The Army didn't run CJs, they had M38A1 which was quite similar to a CJ. I am not sure but government departments ran CJs.

Registration cost? Depends, if its an auction the cost is based on which year it was auctioned, the engine you put in and if its a privately owned you the docs come with it. Average auctioned registration costs about 30-50k
Yearly token? Depends on the engine, you know the slabs, 2000cc for diesel and 1600cc for petrol is nominal if you go for more than that you might end paying 25k per year
Price of decent rims and tires 30-50k
Price of a Land Cruiser dashboard and seats? 10-20k for dash and same goes for a pair of of seats.

Thank you very much! These were the answers I was looking for. I will be asking for more help from the Guru's of 4x4 world on Pakwheels

    I'm off to more research.

Can anyone tell me where in Lahore I can find dealers who buy Army auction lots? I heard there's a place near Thokar Niaz Baig on Multan road.
