Unhappy Point Blank, 4x4Engaged? & IJC at Malam Jabba

The Malam Jabba Ski Resort, owned by the Pakistani Tourism Development Corporation, had a ski slope of about 800m with the highest point of the slope 2804m (9200 ft) above sea level. Malam Jabba Ski Resort was the joint effort of the Pakistan government with its Austrian counterpart. The resort was equipped with modern facilities including roller/ice-skating rinks, chair lifts, skiing platforms, telephones and snow clearing equipment.

In late June 2008, the Malam Jabba Ski Resort was set on fire and destroyed after being closed for more than a year. Residents said a large portion of the resort had been reduced to ashes and the militants also damaged chairlifts and a tower belonging to the meteorological department. The Pakistani government had long since lost control over the administration and security of the valley and had abandoned the resort, laying off its employees there. This was due to the war in the Swat valley between government security forces and Taliban militias (who are likely relocating from nearby FATA and Afghanistan). The Pakistani government has since accepted a Taliban truce in the Swat valley. In May 2009 however the army started an offensive against the Taliban and retook the town.

FRIST SNOW PRESSING MACHINE HANDED OVER CEREMONY AT LAHORE AIR BASE
THE MACHINE AND OTHER SKI EQUIPMENT RECEIVED BY VICE CHIEF OF AIR STAFF AIR MASHAL RASHID KALIM

    Dear All,

Mr Imran is a very close friend of mine & we are working on this project since Point Blank thread is launched, he is working & trying for a donation of snow pressing machine once again.

Imran lives in Japan & after very long followup & repeated trips to Pakistan he finally manage to get a donation of almost 10 million worth of used Snow Pressing machine from Japan, as you can see in videos the container was moved from Karachi to Lahore and the ceremony was held at Lahore Dry Port.

Vice president of punjab Ski Association Mr. Imran Ul Haq Mohsin handed a snow pressing machine and 460 persons ski equipment to President Ski Federation Of Pakistan held at PAF Base Lahore. the Ski equipment has been donated by Mr. Furukawa Toshimasa, President Nozawa Ski club and also gift from Punjab Ski Association.

THE MACHINE AND OTHER SKI EQUIPMENT WAS RECEIVED BY VICE CHIEF OF AIR STAFF AIR MASHAL RASHID KALIM.

We paid only freight of container last time & the same can be done again. There are lot of Hotels in Malam Jabba or people can stay on Hill Top in a Camp Hotel too with Below Zero Temperature camps availabe in pakistan.

EK,SK, ASAD,Waqas, IJC, 4x4Engaged? we can do it.

What we Need to make it possible.

Imran Bhai Good to see you hear. we were in touch a few years ago and i went and particpated in Pakistan national ski championship in Naltar a couple of years ago with your brother Faisal. its great to find someone who cares about promoting skiing in Pakistan.

You are speaking of acquiring snow pressing machines and other equipment...its a great thing indeed. however, the most important thing, to revive Malam Jabba Ski resort is not the pressing machines or skiis or other equipment, its the SKI LIFT. without it this will be a useless endevour.

If we want to do this thing properly, then we need to figure out how to get the lifts working. climbing 10 feet at that altitude with the ski equipment on is no joke... and we need a few 100 yards of slope to make this feasible.
I am a die hard skiing fan and have skied on some of the worlds best slopes. trust me, there is nothing better than having a functional ski slope in our backyard. however, we need to assess the full task and make sure we spend where it counts the most.

Nomi, I think while the ski-slope is being worked on, the plan is for skiiers to make the Malam Jabba climb on 4x4s.....

Hello nomi1234, Don't under estimate Janj equipment take out your ski equipment from store & start cleaning it, disney it self can't provide you a ride of a lifetime & you might not found a 340 Yamaha parked in Lahore where snowfall chances are not very bright. We will take you to your Playground don't worry.
