    Default Project Toyota FJ-40 (1984 Model)

    Dear Pak Wheelers
    In MAy 2010 I purchased Toyota FJ-40 Fram from Military auction held in Kharian Cantt.Restoration of this vehicle is still under process.
    Few Important deatils as follows:

    Toyota Jeep fj40
    Model 1984
    Engine capacity 6 cylinder Toyota 2f (4200cc)
    Gear stock 4 fwd
    Breaks drum
    Its a military auction Voucher April 2010

    I purchased it for 275 K & now restoration begins.
    I want to restore it in original petrol engine.Body is imucluate in condition & jeep is start even in this halat
    So yesterday I send it to Shah Mechanaic F-10 markaz Isb for restoration of machinery only.that means cleaning of diffs, gear, engine, all oil changes, servicing of breaks, rpl of master cylinder & serva booster, electrition work....
    after that will see the performance of the vehicle & than will decide about the colour & other beautification.
    Will also need advices from you guys as this is my first experience of a Toyota FJ model.
    I hope U will like my efforts.
    Regards
    fahad

    @Spiderman

    Thanks a lot for the help (taking pics of my fj & posting them here)
    @Wheelers/IJC & all other friends,

    Sorry for the long delay as i was very busy in office as well as out of town for family matters.More over my internet at home was not wroking.Today I requested spidy (as he lives in my lane) & poses a very good camera as well as the hands behind it to take pics of the FJ-cruiser.
    After a three months long tiring effort finally the beauty is on the road.
    Its a 1984 Model Toyota Fj-cruiser auctioned by Pakistan Army in May-2010.
    Still applied for registration.The number displayed on the vehicle is temporary .Under the hud is a toyota 2f engine (6 cylinder 4.2Liter) petrol engine.
    Military pattern seats, all stock e.g dash board,engine,gear differentials seats etc.
    All I added was a cng kit & its runs great on cng as well.Rs 4.75 per km with a top speed of 125km/h and on petrol its aw-some...7 km per liter but like a bullet...
    Few alterations i made...carborator is altered its a R-2 engine (which comes in petrol Toyota hiace engine) as its own 2f carborator was dead.
    Cng KIt and 15 size rims with dunlop low profile tyres.
    I made this jeep piece by piece & I am happy and more than satisfied.
    There is a long list of details of the work i did my special thanks to Shah Mechanic, Farooq Mechanic,Jameel Ustad (dentor), Tariq mEchanic (cng) Nauman 8ff , Spder Man, Salman TLC,Akif Janjua, Saqib Jan J for time to time advices & help.
    Finaly i prepared my own Toyota Land Cruiser.....Fun Begins where Road ends...
    will provide you the details of the works done later on the same page with some offroad pics
    Any one needs help regarding buliding a FJ-40 cruiser is more than welcome to consult.
    Regards
    Fahad

    @Kashmiri,

    No idea if they more Fj-40 are still available for sale at Kharian Shell petrol pump.But I saw few at 26 number choongi near Ternol Phattak (islamabad).
    One FJ-40 is in very good condition 2010 army auction & might be start as well.He was asking 350K final..but it needs denting painting, hud,inetrior works, breaks, dont know about suspension gear & diffs.

    The guys name is Siddique and if you want i can give you his phone number as well.

    Altogether it will cost you around 650K or more depends upon the restoration work & a tiring back breaking effort of three to four months

    @Machine
    Thanks for the nice words.My chest gots 42 inches wide one any one likes/appreciates my efforts to restore old machines.
    Regarding Mud flaps brother I am looking two more for the front as well.
    Due to wide tires all the mud, dirty water comes up to the body like any thing & I am a poor man.Dont have a driver.Me & my sons clean our rides ourselves.So these big odd mudd flaps helps to prevent upcoming mudd direct to the body & decreases our cleaning effort.

    Your ride is looking great, rightly, you should be very proud of your effort. What type of gearbox did you mate the 2f with?
