you should get it cargo'd. as the weight and dimensions would be too much to declare it as extra luggage. cargo should be fairly cheap. I don't know about the customs though. Perhaps Janj or someone who has imported it can shed some light.
how much do these tires cost you there?

The Mtz you find in Pakistan are roughly around that price...15-16K so don't know how good of an idea it is to get them and pay cargo etc on them.

Mts are useful for hardcore offroading only. you can get by using Ats for the most part. most of us here use ATs on our jeeps and do offroading. so they aren't bad .

as far as i know Army has MTs only for bigger trucks and unimogs etc. defenders and other jeeps use ATs. can you check wtih someone whether they'd have MTs in the auction?

the officer who is commanding this auction has a least technical knowledge of tires. he even dont know the number and sizes etc. but if its confirmed that army do use MTs or ATs, and their codes. I can request him to search few sets.

The tires in the above-mentioned auction were in thousands but purely scrap. Not at all useable.

Though there were about 65 Toyota FJ40s also in the auction. One person bought the whole lot.

Have put the Coopers on Defender, 7 ply MTs become very heavy, 26.5 kgs to be exact. Defender is used as a recovery/service vehicle during rallies or for slow offroading and touring up north so Coopers are fine on it.

Evo being a speed machine, needs lighter tyres hence Cooper MT, because of their weight, would not suit. Already have All Terrain BF Goodrich 265/75/16 (6 pieces) for Evo, each BFG weights around 22 kg. BfGs have 6 ply base and 3 ply side wall so I am quite satisfied with them. Recently also purchased 4 GT Severo 265/75/16 MTs. These weight around 21 kg, so if Evo requires MT, would put Severos on it
