Default IJC Bahria Track Hunting on 17 th Oct 2010

Islamabad Jeep Club Members & Friends

It was a very wonderful experience in exploring Offroading Tracks in Bahria Town Phase 8 & 9
We assembled at Hyundai Sowan Motors Rawalpindi at 11.30 am & left for the tracks at 12.30 pm.
We were escorted by the security car of Bahria. Security personel stayed till the end.

Ten 4x4 took part in this session
Lot of pictures & videos were taken & will be uploaded soon

Special thanx to Bahria Management for fascilitating IJC in exploring tracks.

This place has lot of potential & in near future we will plan another session for Offroading in Bahria.

Aamir Malik's Birthday was also celebrated

Great coordination between the club members was also witnessed

    Thanx

Thnx DeeDee, Its Nissan Patrol Pickup, 2002 Model, Its got a TB45 engine, i.e 4500CC Petrol engine (with electric fuel pump and carburetter) Produces 200bhp and 350nm torque. Very nippy indeed, did few short drags with Shababs's Safari Cruiser (with 1FZ) and it could match it.

Now I have got same issues as you..... i.e no weight in the back dala, so rather bouncy, well a lot bouncy compared to TLC, hence also lack of grip at the rear. Can carry plenty payload on the rear bed, rated at 1.15tonnes (hence the extra bouncy ride), 8 heavy duty leaf springs do help digest your food easily on every trail. Thinking about various suggestions given so far about how to add weight at the rear.

@ All, excellent day out for off-roading with IJC gang. Bahria had very kindly allowed us to use their land to explore various off-road tracks. Its a vast area with huge potential.

Had great fun doing tracks. Long time since I did any "non-executive off-roading" so all internal body parts had been given a thorough jolting courtesy my new ride Nissan Patrol Pick-up. Spidy very kindly named it the "new IJC bunny" for its tendency to hop over all obstacles and tracks. Atleast now we have a genuine Nissan Representation at IJC events

I took only few pics with the mini digital I had, have some vdos as well, will try n do quick editing and pass onto someone to upload on the thread.

    thx for details sir....
why you mentioned electric fuel pump and carburetter separately, i mean whats new about it.... may be i am ignorant ....
and thats a heavy engine i must say for a weight of dala.... you need to have more fat on tyres for a off road around islo....
Rally Art you know better than me what to add but she will be the meanest of all at RRMC.....

God bless you and your rides

Many Thnx Qasim, Would need atleast 3-4 people like you to sit right at the back to stop the rear end hopping on bumps

Somehow driving this one feels like typical American Redneck or an Arabian Baddoo. It is huge, its over 8-9 inches longer than my TLC, and even though its all open at the back it weighs over 2200kg empty compared to 2350kg for the TLC!.

Thnx again DD, I meant electronic ignition + carburetter, there is also a TB45E engine with electronic ignition + fuel injection which is even more powerful. Ideally would have loved to have TB48E.............well one can keep on drooling. Still, am quite happy with what I got for now

    Congratulations on the new ride.

If you do not need its cargo capacity, you may want to soften the springs in the back for a more compliant ride. That is a relatively easy way than adding weight.

If you need to carry cargo too, then softening the springs, but adding a couple of air bladders in the back to stiffen it up as needed would be ideal.

Thnx VC, It has got real chunky 8-9 leafsprings at the rear and not coils, Front suspension is solid axle with coil springs like any standard Nisaan Patrol 5 door wagon etc. Now, if I remove some leafsprings to soften the ride, ride height will go down, so it will be a compromise again. Finding stuff here in Pak is not always easy, even the wheels and tyres I wanted were not available in all three big cities, so had to do compromise on both.

Please post, or email me pictures of the rear axle set up. Let me think about this a bit more.
