Dear friends,
recently I bought two FJ 40s auctioned by Army. The plan was to restore one to original specs and built the other one with modifications like 13B-T or D4D engine & gear, locking differentials, spring-over conversion, 35" tires, roll-cage, winch etc etc.
At the start I thought, putting both the vehicles to built-up side-by-side. BUT, as most of my fellows here know that workshop culture goes by its own norms and pace, I had to rethink my plan. So, ended up starting with only one vehicle.
Here are a few pictures of both the vehicles and some sheet-metal work in progress. Generally both the vehicles were in good shape. Its mostly smoothing up the wavy surface and some patchwork on mud-clogging zones.
The purpose of this thread is to seek advice from our great guys on the forum to help me locate the relevant mechanical stuff as mentioned in the 1st paragraph.
