    Default engine for my pajero

    What is the best engine out there for a pajero. I have a 1990 3-door running on the stock engine. Have removed the turbo setup. Now looking for a good diesel engine around 3000cc and not too expensive and easily available in Pakistan/Karachi. Any ideas?

    I'd like that. But first i wanted to do some research of my own as I've had bad experiences with mechanics before.

    3L-Turbo and 3C-Turbo both are solid engines.

    @psyborg
    do your research and then go to the mechanic I recommend. Well the name is Ustad Babu Garage near Gabol park in Nawalane and they are famous for fixing LC, Patrol, Pajero, Trooper.

    Name is Naeem younger brother of Ustad

    I currently have the 2400cc stock engine. How much do the 3L and the 5L engines cost?both of these come with the turbo as standard?
    @Racerf1: this garage is in Karachi right? never heard of the place. will check them for sure.

    Yes the garage is in Karachi close to ranchore lane and Meva Shah graveyard. Just call the guy and he will direct you better

    The 5L does not have a turbo variant and the 3L has turbo version also known as 3L-T

    No problems, and trust me they are the best garage there is, they fix diesel cars for CM Arbab Rahim and his family and number of other dignitaries. They look small but very well experienced. This is their third Generation working on diesel engines and cars.

    Hmmm but a 3L is a low maintenance tough engine which can take a lot of abuse...and its more than enuff for a 3 door pajero...Dont u think so ?

    i think tht it might of a lesser price then toyota engines...btw u have a three door u can swap a later model 4D56Ti in it as i had one 89 model 3 door intercooler, it had great performance due to good power:weight ..a 4D56Ti is a very good engine for a three door pajero(due to personal experience), its very cheap to maintain,its very longlasting and its price will be low as well..dont spoil ur jeep by putting a toyota in it
