Default Indus Motors - Toyota Hilux

Anyone checked out the new Hilux being assembled in Pakistan. For the price & features its given the used/imported car dealers a run for their money.

2.5 litre Turbo Diesel, Rs. 2,749,000/- (15inch alloys) + Rs. 150,000 if you want one with 17inch alloys.

The colors are really nice, all those offered in the Corolla and the Olive green is just awesome.

I managed to get this shot.

This one is not Pakistan assembled, it is being imported from Thailand. The 4x2 single cab and double cab versions with 3.0L (5L-E) non-D4D are the ones being assembled in Pakistan. I had one in my use as a daily runner for a week n i must say that it has an awesome drive.
The single cab 3.0L 4x2 costs around 1.46million.

Correction. These are now assembled in our dear country. Rolled off the assembly lines a few weeks back. The Thai (2.5D4D Turbo) and S.African (3.0D4d) were imported at 3.6million a piece. This is 2.749 million.
Call a Toyota 3S dealer for more info.

These are now made at the Bin Qasim plant in Karachi. All colors offered.

Toyota Indus was initially importing it from thailand since last i checked with them. If they hav started assembling it in Pakistan, then it is surely a step forward but the price reduction should hav been more significant. I guess they stopped importing 3.0L D4D early last year, and instead started importing 2.5L D4D. The 4x2 non-D4D versions were the only ones being assembled in Pakistan.
    Thanx for the correction.

The standard model you are talking abt is a 3.0L non-D4D (5L-E), 4x2 version. And it costs 1.46million.
The 3.0L D4D,4x4, double cab was only imported initially when this hilux was officially launched by Indus motors in 2008. In 2009, they stopped importing it and instead went a head with the thai 2.5L D4D, 4x4 Double cab costing around 3.45million.

And now they are offering a 2.5L D4D assembled in Pk for 2.749mill. I wonder how long this price stays.

The drive is well as long as you are driving, the ones sitting at the back still curse you. The ride is bumpy + having little or no weight at the back tends to make it slide out (fish tail) at high speed cornering & braking.

The bumpy ride omes as standard package in all pickups (Tundra & Escalade alike excluded )

Even if its localy assembled they should have had focused on whats in demand, either drop Xli and bring a power pack Belta in that price range or roll out a hatch back.
Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

    2.5L Turbo, that's 30% more power than a standard 2.5L.
    Most rally Vigos/Hilux are 2.5L
