Default Great pricing on off road equipment..

I have an email from China 4x4 product supplier from whom I bought a snorkel and other goods, offering great pricing on various 4x4 equipment.

Would like to share its contents and pricing with other Pakwheelers.

Pricing, rule of the thumb is simply double the fob value to derive CNF + Duty taxes paid cost.

This is how you can calculate the landed cost including duties:

Duties on anything related to cars: 35%
    GST: 17%
    Income tax: 4%
    FED: 1% on C&F / CIF
    additional sales tax: 2%

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

For example an item 'A' is for $100. lets assume shipping to be $50.

    100 + 50 = $150 = CIF Pakistan.

    FED 1% = $1.5

    now add 35% duty to CIF = 150 + 35% = 202.5
    then add GST = 202.5 + 17% = 236.9
    then add income tax = 236.9 + 4% = 246.4
    then add additional sales tax = 246.4 + 2% = 251.33

    then FED = 251.33 + 1.5 = 252.8

The item will cost you $252.8, total.

How can you save? first you can the items in quantity and get better pricing.
For good quantities shipping rates would also be reasonable.

other things I won't tell here

Great info.. No need to tell or do other things.. prices are low to begin with.. a usd42 snorkel will land at approx usd100 max.. the real savings will be in shipping costs.. a 20ft container cost from china these days is usd850-

^ Please note that duties are added on the cost of the item PLUS the shipping cost.

Now for example that snorkel, snorkels are very light weight but huge. For which the shipping cost will be calculated on its volumetric weight which would be around 8kg. Lets say the shipping cost for this item is $150.

    42 + 150 = 192

now adding up all the duties and taxes the total cost is: $323.6! all weights and values are assumptions so don't get up my ****

yeah - importing a full container of goodies would be a different story.

Each one of us should put up his "wish list" by stating the item and its price. Lets see where we end up at by Dec end. If total items are worth over USD3000 then it might make sense to place a sea shipment order, provided everyone is willing to dish out the 2 x FOB value in advance to cover freight + duties taxes etc.

Once the shipment is released the left over money should be refunded.

Or the person who handles the entire process can pocket the left over funds if any as handling commission/ profit.

i would assume they dont make them or they would have sent you a quote of that too and on the website nothing like that.
Australia is the place where offroading equipment is mostly in demand.

though Afganistan should have such stuff because there are alot of armored vehicles there and a bull guard is must for them and they do get blown there dont they
