    Default pajero issue

    aoa pakwheelers,
i have a pajero 1992 model. it is 2500 cc diesel intercooler and turbo. the problem is that it is not picking speed properly. the speed at which gears are changed is very low. at speed of 85km/h 3000 rpm 5th gear is applied. an after this the jeep goes uptil 110 km/h max. with this the jeep is also giving alot of smoke during gear shifts. there are oil leakages from the engine. plz i need urgent help from u guys especially the professionals.

can u also recommend a good mechanic for diesel engines/4x4s..
can i also get 'janj's contact number..heard alot about him and wud like to get some advice from him!!

i wud really appreciate ur help and waiting for ur response.
    regards waleed khalid

Frankly the colour wasn't a fav with me but was the latest for 2010 models and I took the plunge being a typical desi !!!

Brother, this is used in Auto transmission vehicles, to shift between low and high gear, if you are driving on motorway and need to pick press and release will show you the difference.
Be nice to the ppl while going up.. you might meet them on your way down

OD should be switched ON. That means you will have extra gear and that will make better fuel economy and less stress on the engine.

Yes @saaduk generally yes......but if you live around hilly terrain, switch it off while climbing if you are driving in 'D'.....same holds good while going off-road!

Mister bushi man. OD generally works after 70 kmph <depends upon application>. So i don't think it will be as useful while offtoading unless u drive it like a rally car and roll it over for Which the Evo pajero is famous
