    Default Project Restoration / Modification / Up gradation Toyota BJ40 (o---o) 1967.

Here you go guys, My recent acquisition of Army Retired 1967 Toyota FJ40, currently with a hilux diesel motor matted with 4x4 SSR gear box.

Plan is to keep the current engine for a while till the body works gets completed, including roll cage installation, front & rear bull bars, big foot, seats, Snorkel, etc then the motor will be, either replaced with ledendry Toyota 13BT diesel or an Iconic Toyota 3B diesel with a H55F 5Fwd Manual Gear Box.

Great going. I didn't know it was coming so fast. Nice design and it shows structural strength.

Just a small piece looks a bit out of place (not technically, just aesthetically). If there was an option, I would have moved it up horizontally above the heads along the roof line. also to avoid rare occasions of ones hitting heads with them!

    OR

size may be a bit smaller thus neatly tucked up!

Default ARB Replica Bull Bars & Hand Crafted Half Doors

Got heavy duty front and rear bull bars fabricated in very thick gauge. The front bull bar is a replica of famous ARB 40 series design, while the rear one is based on a seductive thought

You can see the additional two bars attached on roll cage over driver head and hand crafted heavy duty half doors under way too.

Replacement of all mechanical is on my mind from past few weeks. Lets do this next Sh*t:

Negotiations of a 70series complete mechanical are being done which must include:

Famous 3.4L Toyota B3 motor with 5Fwd complete gear box.

70 series Front and rear complete diff set / tubes with front discs & manual locking hubs, both drive shafts, brake servo lines etc might be with diff lockers as well as tie rods.

However leaf springs shall remain the same.

    Awesome Maaann!!!

Nice clean cut job. The front bumper looks very proportionate and well suited and elegant choice of design.

The rear bumper would have looked less 'squeezed' if inner slopes (shorter ones) were on the outside and the longer ones on the inside. Just thinking loudly....

Idea of doors is simple yet great. Will be very strong with this structure. Will there be a second sheet from inside as well or just upholstery/ pockets?

Nice changes to the roll cage as well.

A physical inspection is much due now on this weekend Sir!!!!!

I agree and must appreciate your observation regarding rear bumper design, but cant do it now as they have already made the light positions. Though you are right that it must have improved alot the overall look from the rear. But cant redo it due to shortage of time and energies of the fabricator as he has already done it twice

Yes i like the finishing and strength of the front bull bar, Thats a piece of art which you must see along with physical inspection of roll cage and its finishing is a treat to watch

No there is no inner iron sheet planned in doors and just a waterproof upholstery is decided in design, however after your question i am thinking to install a cross bars inside the doors between the outer sheet and upholstery for safety of passenger and driver from any side collision.

    Default Development

Have visited the fabricator along with @Tareen bro to check the progress of jobs, and i am quite satisfied to see the pace and quality of the work being done.

Roll cage is finalized, doors are almost completed and next is now fabrication of front seats foundations.

Thank you Tareen Bhai for your interest, guidelines and time,

Brother, though the pleasure was all mine throughout that good part of the day till we parted. I'm honored & thankful for the nice way you have put it ;-)

I would like to mention once more, the impressive gauge and materials this gentleman is using in his fabrication. Apparently, its going to outlive the vehicle itself. Though sheets & pipes are all very heavy gauge, still the finish of end product is commendable considering its all hand crafted.

    All the best!
